Slowly the heat in the Astrometrics lab kept raising, form barely perceptible to uncomfortablyt but not dangerously hot. A side effect from venting a large amount of heat to the hull.

So’Mior: Thirty more seconds of concentrated crossing of the particle beams should get the Chrondite level to beneath 2%, and that should be enough to raise shields.  Are you able to maintain your position?

SydT: I am. ::She blew out a breath and slowly drew one in. It was a technique her  Andorian grandfather had taught her. She did it again and.... well, felt no relief. She frowned.::

So’Mior: Stay steady, let me know if you are feeling off.

SydT: I'm okay. ::She knew it was a lie but kept going.::

He turned his wide brown eyes towards her, almost palpably feeling her discomfort.

So'Mior: You appear to be experiencing discomfort. Perhaps it is the heat?

Which was a most Vulcan way to express concern.

SydT: A little warm. oO Burning up.Oo 

He would not push it. So’Mior was well aware of the pride and honor of both the Adnorians and the Klingons. He did not wish to make a bad situation worse.

So'Mior: We are nearly at full release of the Chrondite.

SydT: Just... one... more... second. ::She could feel her whole body quivering with anticipation.::

He watched with bright eyes anticipation as the final energy surged over the hull of the Constitution and the Chrondite released.

So'Mior: I believe we are successful.

His voice was calm but had an undercurrent of energetic cheering to it.

SydT: Let 'em know they are free to raise shields.

So'Mior: I will.

As SydT sank back in her seat So’Mior tapped the communications line.

So'Mior: =/\= Ensign So’Mior to bridge.  The Chrondite has been cleared from the hull and you are clear to engage shields or systems. =/\=

Bridge: =/\= ?

So’Mior: =/\= Yes. Keeping the deflector shield active should prevent any particle re-adherence. We can power down the particle beams. =/\=

Bridge: =/\= ?

As the commline closed he looked towards SydT and stood, offering her a hand up.

So’Mior: We should find a cooler location to monitor the hull.

SydT: ?

So’Mior: It is not a trouble, I will help however you need.

His tone was earnest and open.

SydT: ?

So’Mior: You did well.  Thank you for your assistance, Ensign.

So’Mior: ?
