(( TUCKER STATION ))
( Before mission starts )
Being with Leran was proving to be an anjoyable visit and she wanted him to know that she's enjoying it. She was prudent, she was cautious and her brother's words still echoed in her mind. But she won't let that keep her from knowing Leran better.
Terpes: Even being a repair station, it seems better, maybe it's the company.
He blushed and Maiman noticed. It was a good sign, as she was convinced he has not bad intention.
Perax: Thanks, ::he turned his head to look at her:: I think the company is special too.
Terpes: You know,... I'm an easy going person, but I find it ... hard to trust people, I mean, I trust people, but to really trust... that's something else.
Perax: Do you want to talk about it?
It was cute that he wanted to play counselor with her.
Terpes: I just wanted you to know it, so if you find me... weird sometimes, it's just that.
Perax: I think we’re all weird in some way or another. ::he looked into her eyes:: Part of building up any kind of relationship is learning how someone is weird and how to live with a weird that is different from our own.
Terpes: True, but they don't call it weird because it's something easy or pretty to talk about. If it was, we'll use other word than weird.
Perax: My weird is that I fear Cardassians like someone who fought in the war because my parents were in the ground fighting, and I listened to their nightmares growing up. I also have a hard time emotionally handling weapons, because my parents in reaction to the war tried to raise my siblings and I as pacifists.
Maiman was surprised by the revelation. She didn't expect to get into that kind of serious conversation while they're off duty, but sometimes those times is when people is able to relax and let things out. She wasn't sure to reciprocate just yet, but she felt the effort of Leran opening up like that.
Terpes: That's something understandable. If your family raised you to be pacifist that's embeded in you. Also, people who fought that great war is known to have changed. I... :: she hesitated, but wanted to reciprocate :: I was kidnapped when I was younger. That left a mark in me. I guess, we all wear masks, ... metaphorically speaking
She didn't get into more details but at least he'll know she'd had her own ordeal and that was a piece of her to show her trust.
Perax: I guess, in some ways, we’re both a little broken. You don’t have to tell me your story if you don’t want to. I know we’re just starting to get to
Terpes: Thanks... I appreciate it and I understand that you didn't talk about that openly. It must have been hard when we had the Cardassians on board...
Perax: Response
Terpes: I don't want this to turn into counseling, for any of us. But I appreciate you letting me know that from you.
Perax: Response
Terpes: Now that we know each other is weird in some way, shall we continue our tour? We might find something worthy of our quarters.
Perax: Respones
