Ba'el looked back to Diz with confusion on her face.

Ba'el: ::Looks at Diz:: I thought we were friends with the Kameryans, has something changed?

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

As Diz talked, Ba'el started to find it harder to draw a breath. A raspy and wet cough escaped her lips, and she tasted blood in the back of her throat! She tried to take in another breath, but very little seemed to be happening. Ba'el looked up, wide eyed, at Terpes, and Ch'Nilmani as a very real panic started to come over her.

Ba'el: ::Raspy voice between gasps:: I can't...cough, cough.....I can't breathe!

Lopez, dashes over and scans the readings on the display before looking across the bed to Maiman. Ba'els readings were showing a sudden spike in adrenaline and CK-MB enzymes in her system as her body fought to take in oxygen. A thin trickle of blood escaped the corner of Ba'els mouth as she fell back onto the biobed.

Terpes: We need to help her breath better

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

Ba'el  was becoming desperate. She knew she was taking in air, she felt her chest expand as she inhaled, but still nothing came of it! A blackness began to grow on the edges of her vision, and the panicked expression on her face grew as she struggled with just the simple act of breathing. Ba'el's mind was racing, wondering if these would be her last thoughts.

oO  Not like this! Not like this! Oo

Terpes: I've got you, stay with me. Lopez, Dexaline, 5 ccs.

The nurse ran to get the medicine and a hypospray.

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

Terpes: We'll work with her. If you wanna help, check with engineering if transporters are working and sickbay for an emergency transport or to bring us a doctor! Hurry!!

Lopez returned swiftly with a prepared hypospray in hand. She verified that it was loaded with the correct medicine before administering it the the struggling Klingon woman's neck.

A slight hiss, and the medicine went to work. Ba'el didn't even register the hypo injection, but after a few seconds, the vice on her chest started to ease a little. It wasn't much, but she was grateful nonetheless.

Ba'el: ::Hoarse whisper:: Thank you....

Terpes: I can't raise the oxygen level more without risking hyperoxia. :: looking to Lopez :: Get 10 ccs of Melorazine ready. If she didn't stabilize in the next two minutes, we might need to sedate her a bit to regulate her breathing and avoid her agitation to go higher.:: Looking back at Ba'el :: Ba'el, I've got you, I won't let you down. I've got a lot to learn from you and ... I don't want the extra work of having your patients added to my list. Don't you dare to do that to me!

That got through. Ba'el managed to gather enough energy to smile weakly at her earnest colleague. And, after a second to gather enough air, spoke to Maiman.

Ba'el: ::Hoarse whisper again:: Well, I guess I should stay then.

Terpes: Respond

Ch'Nilmani: Respond

Sickbay/Mark: =/\=Respond (if any)=/\=

The Dexaline seemed to be having an effect after all. The panicked feeling of suffocating grew less as her body seemed to be getting a little more oxygen, though the tight burning feeling in her chest remained. The blackness around the edge of her vision retreated, for now. Ba'el had a chance now, and vowed to herself to hold on. She looked back to the others gathered around her biobed.

Ba'el: ::Weak raspy voice:: So....About those Timbits and Raktajino?

Terpes: Respond
