((Bridge, Deck 1, USS Aleek Om))

She watched in horror as an energy spike onboard the unknown ship consistent with a transporter beam passed to the Icarus. oO They’re boardin’ th’ Icarus! Oo She knew they had to protect their own crew on the Icarus, but she didn’t know how exactly to do that.

A walking plant had entered the bridge. Victoria had to stare for a moment before dropping her eyes in slight embarrassment. She had seen several of the Federation member species at the Academy, but none of them that she could remember had been plantoids.

Motha: Apologies for the intrusion. Minor repairs on panel 3 need to be taken. I shall be out of your way as soon as feasible.

Felbri: Anything we need to be worried about?

Standing up, Victoria strode purposefully across the bridge to where the plant stood.

Anyone: response

Motha: No. Nothing dangerous. just possible touch screen issues if I don't double check.

Sinclair: I’m Ensign Sinclair. ::She reached out to shake its frond, vine, branch, she didn’t know:: It’s a pleasure tea meet you. Would you mind helpin’ wi’ a problem we’re hevin’?

Her mind rebelled at the idea that she would be treating such a situation with such formality. oO Da’ always said that you cuid fall apart as much as you want inside, but outward remain dignified and calm in a crisis. Oo

Motha: response

Sinclair: Th’ other ship is beaming someone or something o’er tae the Icarus. Do you know a way tae jam their transporters while keepin’ our own working?

Anyone: response

Motha: response

A brief glance at the sensor readings told her another person or object beamed to the Icarus from the unknown ship.

Sinclair: Time is short. I’ll assist you in any way I can.

D'Sena:  =/\= Response =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Good work Commander, thank you. =/\=

D'Sena:  =/\= Response =/\=

No sooner had the conversation ended than an incoming communication signal broke the silence.

Lystra: =/\= Lystra to Aleek-Om, we’re going to attempt to rephase the Icarus’ crew using their medical transporter. Please lock onto the coordinates I’m sending you now and be prepared to transfer them directly on board as soon as they materialize. We’re going to be doing this in intervals as we get power to Sickbay. Lystra out. =/\=

oO Well, tha’s news! There are phased people o’er there? Oo

She handed Motha a spanner absent mindedly as he worked at one of the consoles. She glanced at the helmsman as he opened a comm.

Felbri: ::to Jalana:: =/\= Commodore, a Lattice Alliance ship dropped out of warp and has activated its transporter twice since arrival. =/\=

Rajel: =/\= I'm aware of the presence of the alliance. I've been with a group of them for a while. Not that it isn't good to hear you, but why the late call? =/\=

Felbri: =/\= I had attempted to but comms between ships were jammed. Commander D'Sena has resolved the issue. =/\=

Rajel: =/\= Ah. Good work. Did you say they transported twice? =/\=

Felbri: =/\= Response =/\=

Rajel: =/\= No we have only one team here. We are being observed while investigating what happened to the ship and crew. Please focus on what you can do to assist Cade's and Mingxing's team to safely bring the Icarus crew back. =/\=

oO Well that’s no’ good Oo

Felbri: =/\= Response =/\=

Sinclair: ::she looked down at Motha:: How are you comin’ along?

Motha: response

Kvash: Just a thought. Bear in mind their technology is more advanced than ours. Maybe we can tease out an advance that makes them more vulnerable?

Sinclair: Th’ problem Leuftenant is tha’ we do no’ know enough aboot them. We skirmished wi’ there ships a century an’ a half ago.

Anyone: Response

Kvash: And we don't, begging everyone's pardon, want a fight. I know, I know, a Klingon not wanting a fight.

Victoria blinked. She was completely taken by surprise that a Klingon would not want to do battle when she wasn’t sure she would show such restraint. The other ship, despite not opening fire, had clearly displayed aggression.

Anyone: Response

Kvash: Sometimes, the honorable thing to do is *not* rush into a fight you are not confident you can win.

Sinclair: ::she shook her head:: Forgive me Leuftenant, but if you are no’ confident you can win head tae head, tha’ just means you hev tae be more creative.

Kvash response

As she looked over at the Klingon woman she saw over her shoulder the science console screen change.

Sinclair: Tha’s odd. Is tha’ th’ Icarus transmitting its ID to the other ship? Why wuid it do tha’?

Anyone: response

Sinclair: ::She pulled up the sensor reading of the signal to her screen.:: Tha’ mak’s naw sense. There’s got tae be a reason. There! It’s  steganography! A message is hidden underneath the carrier wave. Someone is telling us to blind the sensors of the other ship.

Anyone: Response

Sinclair: What aboot a good auld fashioned smoke screen? Obviously not actual smoke, but you get th’ idea.

Anyone: response

Sinclair: What th’ ? The Icarus is sparking and firing into nothin’. Something is set wrong on tha’ ship. Th’ weird warp signature is back too.

Anyone: response
