((Outside T’Mar’s Quarters – USS Constitution-B))

Full of life and light and smiles, carrying a tisket, a tasket, a small gift basket, Cade Foster waltzed down the hallways of the USS Constitution-B like a man on a mission.

And the mission was house calls.

Honestly, people should want to have a house call from Cade.  He brought food or drink and an open ear. But he also brought that biting, razor sharp dead-aimed wisdom of being in Starfleet for going on forty-five years and all the life lessons that gotten him to the other side as a healthy functional adult.

He knew all too well that the other path led to whiling away your golden years in a Federation mental health retirement resort, with all the gentle assistance and guidance those who were broken by the universe needed, but none of the freedom and wonder.

Cade valued his freedom, the ability to go where he liked, do something meaningful and continue to build something better for as long as he was still breathing and moving. And he wanted the same for those ne cared about – which included the crew he served. He was the CMO, they were his crew and he had a duty to them.

But house calls tended to be friends. Old friends. Troubled friends.

And so he rang the doorchime.

T’Mar: ?

Foster: Surprise!  House call!  It’s been a long time!

T’Mar: ?

His blue eyes sparkled and he held up the basket.

Foster: Well, also I found a nice stash of Trelmin’tka tea, which I hear is particularly difficult to get this side of the galaxy. I wanted to share.

This flavorful tea was known for its lovely nutty flavor and pleasant calming effect, prized by Vulcans as an evening beverage.

T’Mar: ?

His blue eyes softened as he gazed at her.

Foster: besides, I wanted to see how you were doing.

Have a chat, have some company, share some tea, and Cade could get a sense of her progress.

T’Mar: ?
