Evria left the Vulcan consulate with a slight frown on her face.

Well.

The answer had been about what she expected. She could, of course, wait for the Constitution to come back and seek advice from the Vulcan counselor, whom T'Seva had spoken of highly; but the Constitution was in the Shahar Nebula, light years away doing a scientific survey.

Or she could follow the Ambassador's advice and go to Vulcan. She went back to her quarters.

The stranger was sitting at a terminal, and when he turned she saw the echo of her husband in him. But it was an illusion; no matter what had happened, even if he had lived years past when he had been reported dead...

...this was not her mate, and she had to remember that.

Evria: We have two choices. We can go to Vulcan or we can wait for my daughter's ship to return.

He looked up at her with haunted eyes.

Stranger: T'Seva...

And that was an answer. For now, at least, they were not going to Vulcan; because T'Seva deserved to find out.

And to see.

She sent her daughter a message for a holocall as soon as possible.

She was neither surprised nor worried not to get an immediate response. Perhaps she should have been.
