(( Forests outside of Paoike, Drever IV ))
A broad shouldered Klingon stood at the edge of a small clearing. His armor was much lighter than was typical of a warrior, but still very much Klingon in design. Beside him, a camera drone hovered at eye level. Turning from the clearing the Klingon looked to the camera.
Thoth: :: whispering :: Young warriors, there are benefits to staying quiet.
He brushed a few leaves to the side so that the camera drone would get a better view of the red furred predator on the other side of the clearing.
Thoth: I have named that species, Blood Claws. I have only encountered a few in my time on this planet. We have a rare opportunity here today, young warriors. Blood Claws use stealth in their hunt. They grow arrogant in their position at the top of the food chain and do not expect to have their own method of hunting turned against them.
He shifted on his feet, quietly making his way around the clearing. The creature still hadn't noticed him as he approached it from behind. Suddenly, Thoth reached out and picked the large animal clean off of the ground by the scruff of its neck.
At first the animal seemed confused by what had just happened, then its long red claws extended out. It tried to swipe at the Klingon that had caught it, twisting in Thoth's grasp.
Thoth meanwhile, seemed to not be phased by the creature's reaction. Looking towards the camera with eyes sparkling with excitement.
Thoth: Beautiful creature! Isn't it!? Look, young warriors, you now know why I call them blood claws. They sneak up on their prey and then sink those long claws right into their prey's back!
Just then the creature came dangerously close to slashing a gash into the Klingon's arm.
Thoth: Whoa! Almost got me there! :: he shifted the creature in his grasp :: And this one is still only a juvenile. They can reach twice this size once fully grown!
He set the blood claw down and it dashed into the forest.
Thoth: I think that is enough for today. I need to go feed the walking trees. Unless we see anything on our way back.
He turned and headed in the direction of his home, the drone following behind him.
(( Thoth's Walking Tree Farm, Paoike, Drever IV))
Upon arriving at his farm Thoth went over to check the pen that he had built for his walking trees. They were similar, although, far larger, to the walking sticks of Earth.
One of the insects made its way over to Thoth as he prepared the food.
