Perax: I’m working on playing some music and learning an archaic trade of blacksmithing.

Ba’el: Blacksmithing?  An old, but noble trade. How did you become interested in it?

Terpes: And music,... that's an interesting mix.

He shrugged. He took several bites of his fish.

Perax: It serves no purpose that I can see on a starship that I can see. I was reading about it in a book, and wondered if I could do it. I probably won’t be any good at it. It took people years to learn how to smith successfully.

Ba’el: Don't dismiss smithing too quickly. There are still several master smiths on Qonos whose skill at forging blades is still highly regarded and has brought much honor to their houses.

Terpes: Usually, it takes time, but if you get the hang of it, artisan made items can be well appreciated.

Perax: Maybe something to help support me after I retire. Though I can’t see myself making blades.

It was the second thing he had considered for retirement in the last few days. He wasn’t even thirty years old yet.

Ba'el: I'm willing to bet that is true of your own people as well Leran.

Perax: It is true. My sister is a halfway successful woodworker on Trill. She makes furniture like tables, chairs, chests, and cabinets for the fancy kitchen utensils.

Ba'el: So what's next for you two after lunch?

Perax: Well, we already did what I wanted on the station, so I guess what is next is up to Maiman.

Terpes: I was wondering if there's a good place for sightseeing the surroundings of the station. Also I'd like to see something else from the station and enjoy Leran's company while knowing it.

Leran went pink in the cheeks. Suddenly, all the details that he had memorized from building his model slipped out of his mind like sand through a colander.

Perax: I, I think there is an observation deck near OPS if you want to see the shipyards and mining facilities from the station.

Ba'el: Sounds like you two have quite a day planned. I still have to finish clearing out my office before the refit starts.

Terpes: Take care on that light duty, you still need rest.

Ba'el: ::smiles:: Oh don't worry about me Maiman, I'm good to go.

Terpes: Oh, getting back to something. :: Turning to Leran :: You said you play music?

Perax: Uh, yes.

Terpes: What instrument? And any particular style?

Perax: I play two instruments. I play a tin whistle that I picked up while at the Academy on Earth, and I play a straviner which is similar to the human’s violin. I play Trill folk music, though I’ve expanded into something the humans call classical a few times.

Terpes: You know,... I liked to sing, a while ago. Not sure if I'll still be able to do it, I must be rusty, but it could be fun, someday, to do it... together,... :: blushing a little :: ... depending if your style matches with mine…

Perax: I wouldn’t mind if you sang along. What styles do you sing?

Ba'el: Well, I need to get back to work. ::holds up her hands:: But please, don't rush your meals on my account.

Terpes: You sure? Okay, Okay, I'll see you tomorrow.

Perax: Uh, ok, I’ll see you at my next appointment.

Ba'el: Thank you for joining me for lunch, and I will see you both later.

Leran stared after Ba’el as she walked away. He blushed and grinned half sheepishly, half mischievously as he turned back to Maiman and asked a rhetorical question.

Perax: Do you think we made her feel awkward?

Terpes: So, let's finish this and we can go and see what else we can do on the station.

Looking at his plate, he guessed it would only take him a few minutes longer to finish.

Perax: I only have a few bites left.

Terpes: So what should be our next step? Some sightseeing, check other amenities, ... Do you know if they have any natural environment? Like an arboretum or similar?

Perax: In the days when they built these types of stations, there used to be a large area designed as a kind of park; it was supposed to imitate planet based parks. Now I think they use a hologrid for the sky, but at that time people just had to put up with a steel sky. There was a playground, walking paths, rock gardens, a pond, and some had sports fields or arenas

Terpes: response

Perax: I’m game for whatever you are.

Terpes: response

Leran stood up and pushed his chair in.

Perax: I’m ready.

As they left for the next part of their adventure on Tucker Station, Leran walked beside Maiman. He walked a little closer than earlier. He even dared enough to allow his hand to brush her gloved hand, not enough to be obtrusive, but enough for her to hold it if she wished.

((OOC: it might be a good place to wrap up since the mission is soon to begin.))
