(( USS Constitution-B – Deck 34 ))

( Trauma Center )

As Ba'el's condition was worsening Lopez and Maiman worked together to bring her back to stability. As she gasped for air, Diz'mim immediately came around the privacy screen and straight to Terpes side.

Ch'Nilmani: What's going on?

Terpes: We need to help her breath better

Diz'mim quickly put a hand on the Klingon's shoulder in a gesture she understood was trying to give reassurance and strength. She didn't argue at that moment as she needed to focus on her patient and colleague, but she made a mental not for later.

Terpes: :: to Ba'el :: I've got you, stay with me. Lopez, Dexaline, 5 ccs.

Ch'Nilmani: What can I do?

Terpes: We'll work with her. If you wanna help, check with engineering if transporters are working and sickbay for an emergency transport or to bring us a doctor! Hurry!!

Lopez returned swiftly with a prepared hypospray in hand. She verified that it was loaded with the correct medicine before administering it the the struggling Klingon woman's neck.

A slight hiss, and the medicine went to work. Ba'el didn't even register the hypo injection, but after a few seconds, the vice on her chest started to ease a little. It wasn't much, but she was grateful nonetheless.

Diz'Mim stepped back and tapped his commbadge talking with someone, she didn't pay attention as she checked that the Dexaline seemed to be doing it's effect.

Ba'el: ::Hoarse whisper:: Thank you....

Terpes: I can't raise the oxygen level more without risking hyperoxia. :: looking to Lopez :: Get 10 ccs of Melorazine ready. If she didn't stabilize in the next two minutes, we might need to sedate her a bit to regulate her breathing and avoid her agitation to go higher.:: Looking back at Ba'el :: Ba'el, I've got you, I won't let you down. I've got a lot to learn from you and ... I don't want the extra work of having your patients added to my list. Don't you dare to do that to me!

Ba'el managed to gather enough energy to smile weakly what was a good sign. And, after a second to gather enough air, spoke to Maiman.

Ba'el: ::Hoarse whisper again:: Well, I guess I should stay then.

Ch'Nilmani: ::smiling:: You don't have any choice, Lieutenant.

Terpes: In that, we agree!

Ba'el: ::Weak raspy voice:: So....About those Timbits and Raktajino?

Terpes: There will be time for that. Please commander...

Diz nodded to Terpes before stepping back and tapping his commbadge again.

As the FO checked with Medical, she approached Ba'el ear

Terpes: :: whispering :: He's so worried I couldn't keep him out. You might want to look into that later.

Maiman gave her a slight smile before Diz'mim turned back to them with a sigh.

Ch'Nilmani: Hopefully that'll get us someone. I don't know how bad the whole ship is. We could have medical personnel everywhere.

Terpes: I'm sure they'll be here soon.

Ba'el: Well, it's been a busy day for everyone.

Terpes: Indeed

She remained stable for the next minutes until medical team arrived and took care of her. Maiman explained the treatments administered and let Lopez go with them. She'll move out and check the computer where damages have been suffered and check for anyone in need of help.

( Days later )

((ICU Bay - Main Sick Bay ))

A few days has passed and Maiman had visited Ba'el a few times. This was another day and as she entered the main sickbay, she found that Ba'el rooms had visitors. She recognized the captain and who seemed to be an Orion female. As she approached she began to hear their conversation.

Ba'el: On the command track, Cadets are faced with a multitude of scenarios to test their future potential as leaders. On such test, the notorious "No Win Scenario" has been a staple of the program for over a century. Even in the Empire this kind of test has been used to mark leadership potential.

Rajel: Respond

Ba'el: As I said, I was not on the command track, and yet this was my...what was it once called?...Ah yes, the "Kobiyashi Maru". This was my no win scenario, and yet I found a solution. It wasn't elegant, but I still stand by my decision.

Rajel: Respond

Terpes: Well, you certainly set an example as the Commander came right after you.

Rajel/Sherana/Ba'el: Response

Terpes: He went off easier, probably because her pod was nearer to the cargo bay, or maybe his speed was faster.

Rajel/Ba'el: Response

Terpes: I was near, I'm sure anyone with medical knowledge would have done the same.

She felt awkward and tried to show she did nothing special. That's why she studied to be a field medic, to help beyond the confines of a counseling office. She didn't like seeing people suffering in any way, physically or emotionally. It brought bad memories and she would like to not think about that.

Rajel/Sherana/Ba'el: Repsonse

Terpes: Oh, I was just passing by, after all, she's my chief so I'm just checking if she needs anything. By the way, do you know how many time we'll need to be on Tucker station?

Rajel: Response
