It is quite a disappointment to return to a new entry with the
news that our distressed Enterprise Crew was not all that they
appeared to be. After all the careful preparation and - let's be
honest - excitement to have a brush with history, it would be a
lie to say that this was just another mission that ended
differently than expected.
Thinks started out rather well. When we arrived for our first meet
up it all seemed normal and well, like another time travel
incident that needed to be handled carefully. Throughout our time
on the Enterprise it did not occur to me that something was amiss.
While I was on the bridge it went quite normal. Nobody knew what
exactly happened so teams went on to find out why the ship was
disabled in the Nebula.
While I am still waiting on some reports, a few have already
arrived and it looked a lot differently. Engineering discovered
the Computer's corruption including files that sent data to an
Artificial network, Stock Numbers were accessed and transferred,
communications were monitored and collected, and efforts to repair
the ship were reverted and slowed down from different parts of the
ship. According to medical records the man known as Leonard McCoy
gave injured the wrong medications and most of the work done to
patients were delegated but not executed by him. Some parts were
dated 2398 or older, which leads to my conclusion that the ship
had been travelling for at least two years if not longer. It
appears to be a Miracle that this ship and its crew made it this
far.
While I was not aware of all these events, what threw it all into
the bathwater for me was when a group of men stormed the bridge,
wearing pinstripe suits. As if that wasn't bad enough and
completely out of fashion, they also carried projectile weapons
that even people 3 lifetimes ago on Trill would not have touched.
Way too unsafe. Either way they stormed the bridge to take over.
Through conversation, or rather listening to accusations towards
'Kirk' I discovered that these people were Iotians and some of
them had undergone some procedure to turn into the figures from
our history books.
Which is a measure that's completely unnecessary seeing that
Ioatians are Federation members and have access to the Federation.
Their old fashioned way of life had been phased out over time, but
it seems that smaller groups of Iotians continued to hold onto it,
believing it to be the right path. Though my impression stems from
a very short limited time of interaction.
According to information I have received so far numerous Iotians
were injured and several were hit fatally with projectile damage.
Luckily none of the Constitution Crew were affected beyond very
minor injuries that could be dealt with within minutes. The
impersonation of Starfleet Officers, hostile action as well as the
fatalities will not be easy to be dealt with. Maybe they had
reasons beyond what we understand but these will have to be
presented to Starfleet itself.
We will however not host the parlay or the court martial, as we
were called away before we could even reach Starbase 104. A tow
ship intercepted to receive the Enterprise and its crew to bring
them to the base and hand them over to the Authorities.
Our new orders will bring us to Arentis, a Resort Planet that was
created for the Winter tourism industry. It appears that their
artificial weather system has been running into issues and I quote
'these casual engineers are unable to bring it back up'.
Headquarters figured that we can give them a hand, which should
take all but 10 minutes, and then recover from our mission with a
lovely down time in the winter-scape of Arentis.
We are now on the way to it, but before I can enjoy the presented
pleasures, I will have to have a serious talk with my First
Officer. Not something I look forward to, but based on her report
of her time on the Enterprise, it is necessary.
