(( Bridge - USS Constitution-B ))

The bridge hummed along as everyone worked. That was the nice thing
about it so far. Everyone had something to do and the Andorian could
just focus on the situation at hand. The teams should be launching soon.

T'Seva: Working on it. I thought I had something, but it shifted again.
I'm tweaking the algorithm now.

Ba'el: Shuttles will be ready for launch in 10 minutes. ::Put's up a
display showing the proposed shuttle screening pattern:: This is the
screening pattern I think best suits the situation.

T'Seva: Looks good to me.

Ch'Nilmani: Agreed. What are you thoughts behind this setup?

Ba'el: As we are deploying only three shuttles, this gives some overlap,
and, ::highlights weapons coverage on the screen:: ensures that all
three are within weapons coverage at all times should the need arise.

Ch'Nilmani: Excellent thoughts on that. Go ahead and implement it.

Alright. That meant the Constitution had a bit more coverage and they
would need everything they could...just in case. With the sensors unable
to pierce the goop so well, that meant resolution for phaser and torpedo
locks were going to be half math and have guessing. Not to mention the
shields were going to be paper thin. Nebulas were the bane of starships.

T'Seva: Let's hope it doesn't. To be honest, I would recommend a full
defensive posture if we are attacked. Firing phasers in, or into, or out
of a nebula this energetic could cause an ion surge.

Oh. That would be fun. At least there wouldn't be scuff marks for Jalana
to make him buff out.

T'Seva: But we may not have the choice.

Ba'el: We can link each shuttles sensor system with the ships, thus
improving our ability to target phasers if needed. It is limited, but
until we fine tune our sensors, this is the best option, in my opinion.

Ch'Nilmani: Go ahead.

T'Seva: :: moving her hands again :: Setting that up now.

The Andorian watched as T'Seva and Ba'el worked. It would be something
good to report to Jalana when they had their usual sit down to talk
about crew. The fun of having one thousand plus on board. a lot of
meetings about personnel. Paperwork was fun. Right?

Ba'el: response

T'Seva: And set. Let me see what my algorithm is up to...oh, not that.

The viewscreen adjusted a bit and that was a marked improvement but
still extremely difficult to see. The sensors on the command chair's
screen still showed a scattering wash of data. Diz'mim sighed.
Ch'Nilmani gestured towards the nebula. Defending the ship was a good
idea but they were still in Federation territory.

Ch'Nilmani: It's good to focus on defense but remember. We're still in
Federation territory and this is a science mission. The nearest hostile
to Starfleet is quite a few light years away. Let's not loose focus on
those we have out there.

Ba'el: response

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: With that in mind, how about we do some science work on this
nebula itself. NOt just how it's messing with our sensors. We should be
able to at least start logging data on composition and stuff. We can't
let the shuttlecrafts have all the sciencey fun.

Ba'el: response

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: How about the composition of the nebula. Anything cool or
new there our PhDs can write research papers on?

T'Seva: response

Ch'Nilmani: ::To Ba'el :: On that left panel of my chair, you should be
able to extend the mini-LCARs and get an overview of the sensor suite.
Try your hand at connecting to that probe we have out there and see if
you can pull anything from it. It's not gonna get much on the planet but
we should be able to see if there are any layers to this nebula or any
other fun things.

Ba'el: response
