S'Jenes: =/\=Maintain pressure. Its coordination is degrading, but not yet sufficiently.=/\=

The insectoid remained disoriented, but S'jenes did not mistake confusion for incapacity. The tail continued to carve through the clearing in wide, lethal arcs, forcing constant recalculation of distance and timing.

Foster: =/\= I’m moving, hopefully that will keep the pressure high!=/\=

The overlapping acoustic bursts intensified, the modulation producing chaotic interference patterns. The creature responded with escalating agitation, mandibles snapping repeatedly at empty space as it attempted to isolate a target.

S'jenes observed the axial shift as Avoo'na manipulated the creature's orientation. The mandibles descended in miscalculated force, clamping down on its own tail. The resulting fracture produced a sharp distress signal that confirmed structural compromise.

Jin’Tauri: ::they pointed to his phaser then to the Taznakrtra’s tail. They repeated the gesture.:: Aim for the opening in the wound on the tail!

Jin’Tauri: =/\= Avoo’na, tell pointy-ear to aim at the tail wound. =/\=

Foster: =/\= Aim for the tail, Ensign! =/\=

Avoo'na: =/\= Got it. =/\=

Avoo'na: Hey, t'gon! Aim at the tail wound.

S’jenes: Acknowledged. Targeting the exposed tissue.

Coordinated energy discharge from the multiple vectors produced cumulative trauma. Trauma far beyond the creature's threshold. It retreated into the tunnel and the substrate began to collapse inward behind it.

Avoo'na: We did it!

S'jenes deactivated the external acoustic modulation as he and Foster allowed the clearing to settle into comparative silence. The absence of seismic vibration indicated stabilization, even if temporary.

Jin’Tauri: Well, that’s done! Now, we deal with the problem that was before that foul creature came out of the ground.

He shifted his attention to Jin'Tauri as the mining laser was raised once more. S'jenes sensed possible hostility rather than defensive uncertainty.

Foster: Are you sure you want to do this?

S'jenes sensed a stoic, stern tone in Foster's voice.

S’jenes: ::faces Jin'Tauri:: I would advise against escalating hostilities. We have just demonstrated the benefits of cooperation. Renewed conflict would prove...inefficient.

Avoo'na: What are you doing!?

Foster: They’re not sure you want to do this.

S'jenes did not raise his weapon, but neither did he lower it. His stance remained balanced, weight distributed for immediate lateral movement to provide defense for Commander Foster in case they set the mining laser off.

S’jenes: Commander, I sense hostility but lethal force may be unwarranted at present.

Oh, and then they were saved by a commline?

Ta'an: =\/= Fenix Ignus, Ta'an to ground teams. We have returned. What is your status? =\/=

Utan: =\/= We've just made contact with some aliens. They've been... exploring the place =\/=

Jin’Tauri: =\/= We have met with some meddlesome members of the aliens too. I was just about to eliminate them. =\/=

Avoo'na: =\/= The aliens have already agreed to leave. This doesn't need to end in a fight.  =\/=

Ta'an: =\/= Yes, we made contact... a ship in orbit. It appears the people on that ship have made contact with our kind before. Positive contact. =\/=

Kol’Mana: =\/= What kind of contact? =\/=

Jin’Tauri: =/\= positive. As in confirmed or as in non-hostile? =/\=

Ta'an: =\/= The latest contact was two years ago and ended in joining a naming ceremony for an Ular child. =\/=

Utan: =\/= One here told me the same... are we in good terms with them? =\/=

Avoo'na: =\/= Sounds like peaceful contact to me, t'gon. =\/=

When the external transmission interrupted the standoff, S'jenes did not visibly react, he only recalibrated the likelihood of imminent violence.

Ta'an: =\/= Response =\/=

As the mining laser lowered incrementally, S'jenes reduced tension in his shoulders but maintained readiness.

Jin’Tauri: It seems that we are not to kill you. At least not yet.

Avoo'na: =\/= We will accompany the aliens back to their ship. Unless you had other orders t'gon? =\/=

Ta'an: =\/= response =\/=

Jin’Tauri: =\/= response =\/=

S'jenes observed the exchange between the Kameryans as their command structure clarified prior contact with Starfleet. Prior implications remained inconsistent with adversarial relations.

Avoo'na: =\/= Alright let us know. =\/=

Avoo'na turned their attention back to the aliens.

Avoo'na: Let's return to your ship.

When Avoo'na suggested them returning to their ship, S'jenes evaluated tone, posture, and proximity. No immediate threat indicators were present.

Foster: Let’s.  As I said we’re willing to go and leave you alone.

S’jenes: We will withdraw in accordance with your leadership's directive and file appropriate navigational maps to prevent further intrusion.

Jin’Tauri: response

Avoo'na: It occurs to me, t'gons, that we don't even know each other's names. My name is Avoo'na-letket'ra Petryr.

Foster: Avoo'na-letket'ra Petryr. ::Despite his tension he had enough discipline to relax a bit and offer a diplomatic nod.:: I am glad to meet you.  I am Cade Foster.

Jin'Tauri: response

S'Jenes: S'jenes, Son of Jorel... Science Officer, your assistance in subduing the creature was...effective.

Foster: As we said before, we did not know of the existence of this planetoid. Our Federation is united in a desire to explore and understand.

Jin'Tauri: response

S'Jenes: Our scans confirm this world exhibits astrophysical anomalies inconsistent with standard planetary formation models. Such phenomena naturally invites investigation. I second Commander Foster, Our presence here was purely scientific, not territorial.

Avoo’na: response

Foster: This is a planet that sustains itself, without a star.  That in and of itself is curious.  You people know of curiosity?

Jin'Tauri/Avoo’na: response

S'Jenes: Curiosity is a catalyst for advancement. The lesson I have learned from this is the distinction lies in how it is exercised and whether that exercise is tempered with respect. Curiosity, when disciplined, is indistinguishable from survival. When undisciplined, it becomes intrusion. We will make sure ours remains the former.

Jin'Tauri/Avoo'na/Foster: response

S'jenes: It is not our intent to interfere further. However, the organism we encountered suggests this region is not as isolated as it may appear.

Jin'Tauri/Avoo'na/Foster: response

He activated his tricorder briefly, keeping it angled toward the ground rather than toward the Kameryans.

S'jenes: Subsurface readings indicate an extensive tunnel network. The creature's retreat path remains active although it is increasing distance from our position.

Jin'Tauri/Avoo'na/Foster: response

A slight pause.

S'jenes: Commander, absent transporter capability, I recommend we return to our shuttle and reassess orbital conditions from there.

Foster: response

Jin'Tauri/Avoo'na: response

S'jenes inclined his head slightly toward Avoo'na.

S'jenes: We will not approach further installations or conduct additional scans without your explicit consent first.

Avoo'na: response

He tapped his combadge.

S'jenes: =/\= Ensign S'jenes to Constitution-B. Iaonaie crew intact. Indigenous species confirmed. Hostile engagement de-escalated. =/\=

Constitution-B: response (OOC not sure if we can communicate yet but wanted to try it for the sim and see if we can)

S'jenes remained motionless as he awaited response, eyes attentive, expression composed.

Jin'Tauri/Avoo'na/Foster: response
