(( Quarters Cade Foster - A morning during Shore leave ))
Seeing his face made her own light up with a dazzling smile, just
seeing him gave her the happies. This visit was way overdue, why
did her work have to keep her so busy?
Rajel: Good morning. ::raising the bag with the baked goods:: I
brought treats, I hope you didn't have breakfast yet?
Foster: Not yet, and you’re just in time to join me for a
breakfast beverage!
She stepped inside and stopped briefly to remove her shoes and
place them aside. Much better. She saw some cups and some device
on the table used to brew something when he reached behind him to
grab a tea infuser as well. He was the born host.
Rajel: I wanted to come by earlier, but you'd be surprised by all
the paperwork that is involved when you discover a planet nobody
knew about. ::turning to him she smiled.:: How was your shore
leave so far? Did you get to relax and have fun?
Foster: I did! Went joyriding with the new crew, it was great!
How about you? What have you been up to besides paperwork?
Rajel: Most of my time was spent with that honestly. HQ wanted to
know so much detail you'd think they are trying to recreate a
holodeck program just based on my tellings. But I spent some time
on the station as well.
Foster: I know, right? You get curious about one little planetoid
and it turns into an administrative nightmare. Such is the life of
a Starfleet officer. ::he chuckled:: But I’m glad you got some
downtime.
Rajel: Me too. I just hope to have some more that I can spent with
you now.
There was so much she wanted to chat about and do with Cade and
she had no doubt that he knew. Luckily he had been in Starfleet
long enough to not hold it against her when all his bureaucracy
kept her busy for longer than she wanted to. Jalana moved over to
join Cade and sat down.
Foster: I saw T’Mar was back. I checked in on her as well.
Jalana nodded slightly leaning back as she unpacked some baked
goodies from the bag she had brought and placed them on a plate
for them to choose. She grabbed one that could be eaten on its own
easily and pulled one leg up onto the seat wrapping her arms
around it before ripping a piece off it.
T'Mar had been a sore subject, raw and painful for a while.
Especially when Jalana had wanted to help her with her substance
abuse issue and got her own thrown back at her. One of her oldest
friends had chosen to become a stranger... until she had come
back. There still was a bit of heaviness between them but it had
gotten a lot better since then. Healing never happened all at
once.
Rajel: Yes! I'm glad to see that she's okay. Well as okay as she
can be. How did she look to you?
Foster: I agree. Better. But as with all of us, the path she
walks is up to her.
Rajel: I know. I wish I could take some of it off her shoulders,
but I know from experience that I can't. ::She had gone through
the same thing and it had taken a while to find that path and then
walk it.:: I haven't spent much time with her since her return.
Foster: Well, we’ll have to rectify that next shore leave!
Rajel: ::smiling:: We should. Same with our little date trip to
see more of the stars and icy comets now that we are back to being
adults and don't need a chaperone any more.
As much as she liked Elias it would be nice to head out alone
together for a bit.
Foster: Response
Rajel: Right, yes I got the revised list back, so we should be
able to have our shiny party soon. ::grinning:: You know I love
those. Maybe we can have a trip after that. OH! Did you hear that
Sarek asked me on how to become an officer? He is quite excited
about the prospects.
She took the cup and inhaled the scent with a smile before taking
a sip. Cade knew for sure how to brew tea and this one tasted
wonderful. It filled her with warmth and calm.
Foster: Response
Rajel: Yes. I have spoken with Leran about utilizing the holo
emitters all over the ship for that and maybe we can also use
something like a mobile holo-emitter. There are some things to
figure out for that but I know it's in good hands with Leran.
However we all may have to get used to the thought of Sarek
showing up all over the ship with boops and stories. ::She smiled
fondly::
Foster: Response
She ripped off another piece of her pasty and dunked it into the
tea before taking a bite of the soaked goodness and humming
appreciative. This went together rather well. She didn't have many
people she could truly be relaxed with but Cade had been one of
these people for years. She looked over to him for a long moment.
Rajel: You know I wanted to talk with you about-
Kapoor: =/\= Operations to Rajel. Commodore, we are receiving a
Priority One communication from Headquarters. =/\=
Jalana furrowed her brows and sighed -of course just when she
started to relax- before tapping her badge. Priority one meant it
was a secure channel, and she couldn't just take it in front of
Cade, in case it was sensitive information. Even if she trusted
him with her life.
Rajel: =/\= I'll take it in my quarters, let them know it'll be a
few minutes. =/\=
Kapoor: =/\= Understood. I'll reroute it. Kapoor out. =/\=
The Trill got up from her seat.
Rajel: I'm sorry about that. Let's continue this later, yes?
She grabbed the cup and the pasty, she wouldn't just leave it back
because it was yummy and she wanted to have the rest.
Foster: Response
She smiled and after just a moment of thinking she bent down to
place a brief kiss on his cheek if he let her before heading to
the door.
Rajel: Thanks for the tea, it's amazing.
She was already on her way to the lift when she realized she had
forgotten her shoes back in Cade's quarters but she could get
those later. Now she needed to find out what Headquarters wanted.
