Nugra: We do and we do not. My people had a violent religion which
fueled a lot of animosity against others. The Federations initially
contact with us was due to Suraka worshipers. The other religion in our
Hegemony is that of the Pale Goddess but in actuality, most due not
believe anymore.

Ba'el: ::Nods thoughtfully:: I see...and you? What do you believe?

Nugra: I do believe in the pale goddess, so I am familiar with the
concepts of religion and paths laid out for us by a higher power.

Ba'el: ::Smiles:: I understand.

Nugra: What did you find in this belief of something beyond oneself? If
I may ask.

Ba'el: Well, first you need to understand something. Klingons don't worship gods. The first Klingon, Kortar, and his mate, Shelka, slew the gods because they were more trouble than worth. Then they turned the heavens into ashes.

Nugra: Respond

Ba'el: What we have instead would be considered more "polytheistic". There are several mythical figures that are recognized by various groups. Such as Klavek, one of the authors of the Sacred Scrolls of the Kuvah' magh, and of course there is Kahless the Unforgetable.

Nugra: Respond

Ba'el: Most of those who visit the Monastery on Boreth come seeking a deeper understanding of the writings of Kahless, Klavek, or many others. This includes forms of meditation. And, like the Caves of No'Mat on Quonos, seek visions to ask questions, or receive guidance concerning personal matters.

Nugra: Respond

Ba'el: ::Takes a deep breath:: Yes, as a novice member of the brotherhood, I was encouraged to seek out my own truths. And while I was seeking these truths that Kahless revealed himself to me in a vision.

Nugra: Respond

Ba'el: He told me that our people were losing a part of their spirpits. That we had forgotten that true strength comes from the whole of our people, not just single individuals. Too many of our people are being "discommendated" for events beyond their control. That valued warriors are being discarded for meaningless minor failures or infractions. He told me that I was the one to find a way to rekindle the hearts of our people. To remind them that we are strongest when standing together united.

Nugra: Respond

Ba'el: This is what led me to Starfleet academy, and becoming a Counselor. To find a way to revive the Klingon spirit.
