Perax listened intently to the conversation. Suddenly, he remembered he had a packet of trail mix in one of his suit pockets. He drew it out and began eating some.
Perax: does anyone want some trail mix? I don’t know if it will agree with your digestion. You might want to scan it first to be safe.
Lystra: Sure, we have plenty.
Kol’Mana: Trail… mix? You eat what you picked up on the roads?
Utan: Is it something vegetal or it includes animal meat to that mix?
Perax: it contains Cashew nuts, pretzels, those wheat crisscrossy things, and a small chocolate candy.
Lystra: They’re a Human snack, from Earth. Called trail mix because it often left a trail behind the person when they were walking. I think.
Kol’Mana: Sounds like a great way to be eaten by a Krantha
Utan: From what you said, it doesn’t have animal meat. I might give it a try.
Yirah: Looks like we're going to be here a while.
Lystra: Yep. ::To the Kameryans:: Since we’re going to be stuck here, is there anything you’d like to know about us?
Kol’Mana: I am curious to know what brings you to this place.
Utan: How shall we address you?
Perax: I’m Leran Perax
Yirah: I'm Indrid Yirah. What are your names?
Lystra: Lystra. ::she smiled then realized she should probably include her birth name:: Xal’tress. Lystra Xal’tress. Xal’tress is the name of my birth ship.
Kol’Mana: You are named after you ship? Interesting. I am Kol’Mana of the clan of Zorn, of the Zinera.
Utan: Utan Ural. The Ural is the name of my kind, my personal name is Utan.
Yirah: response
Lystra: Nice to meet you both. I’m Security and Tactical. I’m a protector for our ship. ::she smiled::
Kol’Mana: Security. You protect?
Perax: I’m an engineer; I build and repair equipment for the ship.
Yirah: response
Lystra: I’m a Boslic. My people left our home a long time ago to wander the stars because we feel the need to keep moving further and further. So we adopt pieces of other cultures into our own to make it something new.
Utan: I’m Ular and we are part of nature. We respect it and it provides us in return. As we learn from it, we use that to heal others, to make nature grow and to provide in case of need.
Perax: Indrid and I are Trill. We have the ability to join with a symbiont and share lifetimes worth of experiences through multiple generations.
T'Seva: =/\= Constitution to Indrid Yirah =/\=
Yirah: Response
T'Seva: =/\= Oh good. Is everyone alright down there? We're finally having a conversation with the Kameryans in orbit. =/\=
Yirah: Response
Kol’Mana: We know, our people said as much.
Perax/Yirah/Lystra: response
Kol’Mana: The last creature-people our kind meet called themselves Pak-Leds. They were arrogant.
Utan: Not to mention bad at explaining themselves.
Perax: I’ve never met the Pakleds, but what I’ve heard about them isn’t flattering.
Yirah/Lystra: response
Kol’Mana: We are not unused to space, but for many years we keep to ourselves. Space is big. It is not hard to avoid others if you try.
Utan: Also, venturing into the open, the unknown, is risky as it could lead dangers to your own land.
Perax: I think the Ferengi have a rule about risk. ::he said thoughtfully::
Yirah/Lystra: response
His musings were interrupted by the comm system.
Rajel: =/\= Constitution to Away Teams. We will be sending medical and Science teams to the surface to help the Kameryans with some plant based medical research. You are welcome to volunteer and remain to join the efforts. If you are not, as soon as you are able, please return to the Constitution. If you are injured, please make sure to return for treatment first. Rajel out. =/\=
Perax: Hey! That was a clear transmission! :: he paused, considering the message a moment:: If staying is optional, I think I would prefer to return to the Constitution.
Lystra/Yirah: Response
Utan: I’m sure it’s taken care of, but we should call the Fenix ignus to confirm and then we could share more about our reasons to be here.
Kol’Mana: Response
Perax: I’d definitely still be interested in hearing how you came to be here.
Lystra/Yirah/Kol’Mana/Utan: Response
A sudden thought struck Perax, and he jerked upright in his seat, a look of attentiveness crossed his face. He looked around the runabout. What he saw or didn’t see bothered him.
Perax: Does anyone know what happened to that bird? You know, the one with eyestocks?
Lystra/Yirah/Kol’Mana/Utan: Response
