(( Observation Deck, USS Arcadia ))
Natasha had been staring at the PADD for the last several hours. “Priority Three subspace message, New Assignment, U.S.S. Constitution ~ NCC 9012-B” This was not where she expected to be since she had initially started her day expecting to assist reuniting Lieutenant Storm with her daughter. But as they say, the best laid plans rarely go as expected. She was sure she’d receive further details from Commodore Jalana Rajel. On the plus side she would get to check in with Charlotte since she had transferred to the Constitution-B after Callis I.
She leaned back in her chair looking out the window as the ship skimmed through slipstream. There was an interesting beauty to it, not that seeing space pass by at warp didn’t have its own beauty to it, this was just different. She’d have to describe it to Juno when she got a chance, they'd of course pester her endlessly because that's what younger siblings do. She picked up her third cup of coffee as the ship exited the Quantum Slipstream, she looked back up to the windows as Starbase 104 came into view.
Cole: That thing is immense!
Crewman: ::stifling a laugh:: Just wait till you're inside, you'll forget you're on a station in space.
She gave the crewman a curious look and then looked back to the station. Normally she would think he was pulling her leg, but as the Arcadia was closer on its approach she spotted a Galaxy Class starship in an exterior shipyard berth.
Cole: What’s with the flying hotel?
The crewman stared at her like she had just kicked his puppy. She folded her arms and tilted her head staring at him waiting for an explanation.
Crewman: Lieutenant… that is the USS Constitution-B.
oO Well that’s embarrassing. Oo
She suddenly wanted to see if she could disappear into the deckplating. What did the universe have in store for her now? She smiled at that thought, the uncertainty was exciting. She downed the remainder of her coffee, and dropped it off at the replicator.
(( Time skip ))
(( Cargo Bay 5 - Deck 13 - USS Constitution-B ))
She had spent what felt like hours filling out transfer forms on three different PADDs before she was granted permission to finally board the Constitution. When she saw that Lieutenant Bancroft was the one responsible for packing her quarters. She was convinced he likely planted some kind of time delayed prank or something. One she was issued quarters that would be something future her would have to sort out.
Once she was on the Constitution properly, she was grateful for the helpful crew. She was taken a bit by surprise at how welcoming and helpful everyone was. Not in a suspicious way, but genuinely welcoming her. She was feeling more at ease as she finally made her way to Cargo Bay 5. She had expected to meet her new CO in her office, but the Conny, as her crew were quite fond of calling the ship, had been going through some upgrades and the Bridge was off limits. And the added complication of most of the senior staff away on a mission. She was to meet Lieutenant Chandni Kapoor, the Interim Chief of Operations in Cargo Bay 5.
As she made her way through the Cargo bay she found, who she believed was the officer she was to meet up with. She approached her carefully as she appeared to be consulting a PADD, and Nat did not want to scare the daylights out of the first officer she met.
Cole: Excuse me, Lieutenant Kapoor?
Kapoor: Response
Cole: I’m Lieutenant Natasha Cole. I was instructed to meet you.
Kapoor: Response
Natasha relaxed a little, there was that ever present welcome feeling. She let a genuine smile start to form on her face.
Cole: Yes Sir, that is correct I’ve been reassigned as the Constitution's Strategic Operations Officer. ::looks around:: Do you need a hand?
Kapoor: Response
