(( Captain's Office - the morning after the party ))
There were a couple of things that Jalana preferred in private.
Shinies generally were not part of that, but in some cases it was
more appropriate. One of the ribbons was the result of the
incident with Azura on the Faketerprise. She did not see a reason
to explain the incident to everyone, especially since noboy would
know unless they read the report, that was not public, or were
told by one of the affected parties. And she did not want to keep
it vague and cause people to have more questions and form
theories.
So Jalana had called Indrid and Shedet to her office, a rare
occassion, as she prefered any other location but her office for
talks like these. But it had the smallest chance of someone
bursting in. The office had been remodelled a while ago, it looked
nothing like the standard Captain's office on the Galaxy class...
or any ship really.
Jalana sat in one of her bean bag chairs and currently scanned her
new First Officer's file. She was curious why Headquarters hadn't
at least asked her if she had anyone in mind. Maybe Heraan wanted
to mess with her, who knew.
Yirah/Shedet: response
The Trill looked up from the file on her PADD and seeing the two
through the glass door waved them inside. She shut down the file
and placed it on the coffee table before she peeled herself out of
the beanbag chair.
Yirah/Shedet: response
Rajel: Thank you two for coming. I won't keep you for long.
They were after all still on shore leave.
Yirah/Shedet: response
Jalana moved to a small table and picked up two black boxes before
heading back to the two.
Rajel: I could not give these to you last night without throwing
out a lot more questions than necessary.
She held the black boxes out to them, should they look inside
they'd find a Service Ribbon each, the same for both.
Yirah/Shedet: response
Rajel: There are situations when it feels almost impossible to do
the right thing. One of these moments ocurred on the Enterprise
when you both stepped in to pull Azura back from that Iotian crew
member.
Yirah/Shedet: response
Rajel: That stepping in might have saved her from - excuse my
language - deep shit. And your stepping in helped her realize that
what she did was wrong and could begin working on figuring out
what that is. Without you who knows where she'd be now. What you
showed was compassion, bravery and honor. That is why it is my
honor to reward you the Captain's Commendation. Congratulations,
and thank you.
