(( Drever IV, Desert ))
The course had lead them to the tunnels that Team Klingon had
found as well but instead of going through one of the side
tunnels, Jalana has pushed on the gas to use the path straight out
to speed up, maybe they could win a couple of minutes with that.
A loud groan left Jalana's throat, an eyeroll was aimed towards
Kiamon.
Rajel: Will you /stop/ telling me how to drive?
Kiamon: I would be happy to should you suddenly decide to learn
how to drive! Or better yet, let ME drive. How you have survived
this long is beyond me…
Rajel: And yet - surprisingly - I have done quite well for myself
until you showed up.
Kiamon: ::scoffing:; Well that’s certainly debatable!
She already opened her mouth to give another smartass reply, when
she realized the markers of the course indicated a sharp 90 degree
curve ahead.
Rajel: HOLD ON!
Kiamon: Wha-?
That was all the warning he got. With high velocity they went into
the curve, the wheels freely spun as she tore the steeling wheel
in one direction, so that the car drifted into the other. A large
sandy dustcloud formed around the buggy before it jumepd forward
back on treat towards a large opening ahead that would without a
doubt lead back to the desert.
Tagus: You were saying about your driving skills?
Rajel: We're still driving and in the buggy. We're fine!
Tagus: Oh please, Olen! You could have killed us!
Rajel: For spots sake, how often do I have to tell you that I'm
not Olen?
She may carry his memories and know what he had done, and
sometimes it felt like these were her own memories, but strictly
speaking she was not him. She was Jalana. Her own person.
Tagus: Right.. Sorry.. ::he cleared his throat and spoke back up::
But the point still stands! You are a wretched driver..
Rajel: I get us from A to B in one piece!
Tagus: Yes, well, if your plan is to kill me in a buggy crash to
get out of talking to me- just know if my symbiont survives I’ll
track you down again Rajel!
Jalana rolled her eyes, once more turning the wheel for a curve,
this time without a warning. If he wanted to complain she could
give him something to complain about.
Rajel: Why are you so obsessed with me?
Tagus: Response
Rajel: You were the one who wanted to join me so stop your whi-
D’Sena: =/\= Bridge to all Personnel. This is an immediate recall.
Return to the ship and find your way to your stations to prepare
for departure. I repeat this is an immediate recall. =/\=
Rajel: ::groaning loudly:: OH COME OOOOOOON!
Tagus: Response
Despite everything in Jalana complaining about the interruption
she knew that sometimes Starfleet did this. Something came up out
of the blue and then they had to abandon everything to move out.
So she hit the breaks with made the buggy skid over the sand and
turned off the engines.
Rajel: Looks like we'll have to continue this another time. ::She
reached up to tap her badge:: =/\= Rajel to T'Aven, leave the
buggies and set up, we can return later to retrieve them. =/\=
T'Aven: =/\= Understood, Sir. Returning to the ship now. =/\=
Jalana just nodded and tapped the badge to close the line and
looked to Tagus.
Rajel: Feel free to have the ship transport you back to the
colony. I'll have to leave. Sorry. ::Without waiting she pressed
her badge again.:: =/\= Rajel to Constitution, beam me directly to
the bridge. =/\=
There was a confirming chirp and the small Trill was engulfed in
many sparkles and disappeared.
Tagus: Response
(( Bridge, USS Constitution ))
Jalana re-appeared on the bridge just as she had requested, still
wearing her desert outfit. But she had more important things to
worry about.
Rajel: What's going on?
D'Sena: We received a priority one call from Hermes outpost
reporting several attacks alongside the nearest border. In the
middle of the conversation one of Captain Va's officers commented
on a communication relay being attacked and the connection went
dead. We have attempted to reach them but couldn't get through.
Now that explained everything, including why they would depart
right away instead of waiting for the race to finish. Her face
turned into a big frowny expression and she nodded.
Rajel: I'll have to get into uniform. As soon as everyone is back,
depart at highest speed to Hermes outpost. How far out are they?
Akeelah gave her a firm nod, Jalana was sure that had been the
plan all along.
D'Sena: We'll be there in a matter of minutes at Warp 5.
Rajel: Good, do that. The sooner the better. I'll be right back.
((OOC: This is the last timeskip for this mission. From now on we
are officially in the Frontier day Blockbuster, which means there
will be no more timeskips until the mission is over. One RL week
of RP will equal one hour of IC happenings, so you guys have a
reference how long the scenes take :) We hope you will enjoy! I
leave to you all who is on the bridge, other than T'Seva, so write
yourself in there! ))
(( Bridge, USS Constitution-B ))
In the short time since the crew had been called back and they had
headed away from Drever IV and towards Hermes Outpost, the bridge
had filled with officers and Jalana had quickly changed into a
spare uniform in her office. Now sitting on the center chair her
eyes were glued to the screen. Hermes station was a planet bound
outpost, a HUB for deep space scans, observances and
communications. An important but very small facility that helped
coordinate activities across the southern sectors of the
Federation. It was of vital importance, since there still was a
lot of unexplored space down here and their closeness to the
border where Federation met Tholian space. Hermes Outpost did not
have much personnel but that did not make them any less important.
As the Constitution dropped out of warp, they were greeted with
the sight of several smaller ships that Jalana couldn't
immediately identify - and she couldn't make out how many there
were - firing at the outpost's orbital telescopes and sensor
platforms. Some of them were already floating adrift in space.
Jalana was also sure she could spot some ships firing towards the
planet, where the station sat on the ground. Jalana jumped to her
feet.
Rajel: Red alert! Silence the sound on the bridge. Open ship wide
channel.
T'Seva: Response
Kapoor: Channel open, Sir.
The claxon immediately sprang to life, alerting the whole ship of
the imminent danger.
Rajel: =/\= Rajel to all crew. Battle is imminent, man your
stations. Hermes outpost is being attacked and will get our help.
Medical prepare for casualties on Hermes and Constitution.
Engineering keep our shields and weapons up, prepare for heavy
damage on Hermes and Constitution. OPS, make sure power keeps
going to the vital systems. Intel try to find out anything about
these ships and why they are attacking Hermes. Science check if
you can find anything in the area to give us an upper hand against
the attackers. Security, prepare for possible hostiles trying to
board and assistance on Hermes. Ba'el we may need you on the
bridge once we find out who this is! Everyone brace yourselves
this is gonna be rough. =/\=
Anyone: Response
Jalana looked over her shoulder to T'Seva and nodded to her. While
she had not given Tactical a verbal order, it was pretty obvious
what they would be doing. The Vulcan/Bajoran had to be ready after
all, since she manned the station that would attack. Then Jalana
looked to the screen and sat back on the center chair.
Rajel: Engage and Fire!
Anyone: Response
((OOC: We do have some MSNPCs for the attacking sides as well!
Have fun! ))
