((Runabout Interior, forward compartment))

The creature-people had a big ship and a little ship. The big ship was home, the little ship was not.  Slowly she started to understand how these fit together.

Kol’Mana: I do not care so much if I am on a planet or a ship.  I am here to protect those under my care. A planet breathes slowly. A ship hums with strong breaths that come steadily and quickly. Each are alive in a different way.

Utan: Using a very broad meaning of being alive.

Well, of course.  She did not react outwardly to Utan, Kol’Mana had already had plenty of discussions with zir on what the meaning of home was, and what constituted life.  Such was the way of the Kameryans.  She would never expect an Ulan to have the same views of life as a Zinera.  And that was OK.  They still worked together despite the disagreements.

Lystra: But not an inaccurate one!

Strange, some of the creature people agreed and some disagreed. Not unlike the Kameryans.

Kol’Mana privately admitted she liked them better without the helmets. Now they had faces and that was better because faces told stories.

Yirah: How is the ship holding up?

Perax: it’s working. We’ve had two massive lightning strikes in the fields before I got the programme working, but now the lightning is going around us, and what lightning is getting through is much weaker, and is not resulting in a secondary static build up.

Yirah: ::to the Kameryans:: Are storms like this common here?

Kol’Mana: Enough that we know of them.

She would not say too much. It was not her place to say.

Utan: We have interests in this planetoid. I guess your captain and the one of our ship would like us safe and sound. Once our situation is clear, we could expand on our task and our intentions. Until then, please, allow us to be... adamant of revealing details.

Perax: Well, we’ve noticed your interest in agriculture.

Lystra: I’m sure our Commodore would likely offer our assistance in whatever research you’re doing. Studying a rogue planet that thrives like this without a parent star is definitely piqued our interest.

Kol’Mana: What is a Commodore?

Was that like a ruler?  A royal?  A queen?

Utan: As we're here,... Take this :: Ze took a kind of seed from a pocket in hir jacket :: smash it to dust and make the one I incapacitated inhale it. It should bring him up in a minute or two.

Yirah: Thank you. I will keep them in this container until we can have our medical team take a look at them. I want to make sure that it's not something that Maramox is allergic to.

Lystra: If nothing else, we could fly him over to Cade once the storm settles if needs be.

Perax: does anyone want some trail mix? I don’t know if it will agree with your digestion. You might want to scan it first to be safe.

Lystra: Sure, we have plenty.

She looked at the stuff with some measure of suspicion as the translator chewed through the word.

Kol’Mana: Trail… mix?  You eat what you picked up on the roads?

Utan: response

Perax: it contains Cashew nuts, pretzels, those wheat crisscrossy things, and a small chocolate candy.

Lystra: They’re a Human snack, from Earth. Called trail mix because it often left a trail behind the person when they were walking. I think.

She blinked at the last to speak and considered the tail.

Kol’Mana: Sounds like a great way to be eaten by a Krantha

Which was a canine-like predator known for stalking it prey over long distances.

Utan: response

Yirah: Looks like we're going to be here a while.

Lystra: Yep. ::To the Kameryans:: Since we’re going to be stuck here, is there anything you’d like to know about us?

Kol’Mana: I am curious to know what brings you to this place.

Utan/Perax: response

Yirah: I'm Indrid Yirah. What are your names?

Lystra: Lystra. ::she smiled then realized she should probably include her birth name::  Xal’tress. Lystra Xal’tress. Xal’tress is the name of my birth ship.

Kol’Mana: You are named after you ship? Interesting.  I am Kol’Mana of the clan of Zorn, of the Zinera.

Utan/Perax/Yirah: response

Lystra: Nice to meet you both. I’m Security and Tactical. ::she thought for a moment about what one of them had said before:: I’m a protector for our ship. ::she smiled::

That perked her interest a bit.

Kol’Mana: Security.  You protect?

That was something Kol’Mana understood.

Utan/Perax/Yirah: response

Lystra: I’m a Boslic. My people left our home a long time ago to wander the stars because we feel the need to keep moving further and further. So we adopt pieces of other cultures into our own to make it something new.

T'Seva: =/\= Constitution to Indrid Yirah =/\=

Yirah: Response

T'Seva: =/\= Oh good. Is everyone alright down there? We're finally having a conversation with the Kameryans in orbit. =/\=

Yirah: Response

Kol’Mana: We know, our people said as much.

Utan/Perax/Yirah/Lystra: response

Kol’Mana: The last creature-people our kind meet called themselves Pak-Leds. They were arrogant.

Utan/Perax/Yirah/Lystra: response

Kol’Mana: We are not unused to space, but for many years we keep to ourselves. Space is big. It is not hard to avoid others if you try.

Utan/Perax/Yirah/Lystra: response
