S'Jenes: She will be a formidable vessel when completed.
Lystra: Actually Cade, I’d rather not hit any asteroids. If we do that means we’re doing it wrong. ::she chuckled:: And you’re right. She’s a nice looking ship.
McCray: Yeah, let’s not scratch any paint. Though a buddy of mine always said that you ain’t racin’ unless you’re tradin’ paint.
Perax: So, ::he pulled up a map of the shipyard:: where is the best place to break some speed limits?
Foster: Not in a bunch of asteroids. ::He looked towards Lystra:: I think there’s an open space testing range some few parsecs from here.
Lystra: Agreed. Not the best place to open up the throttle for a sprint.
McCray: Let’s see the sights then. I’m all for it.
S’Jenes: Observation of the shipyard does provide a number of variables.. ::eats a cookie:: I would not object to continuing the tour before introducing additional risk factors.
Perax: What do you think? Is it fair, dangerous, and challenging while still being reasonably safe?
Foster: You know, I like the concept of both safe and challenging. Adrenaline rush and safety are a good combo.
Lystra: Let’s not get sent to the Commodore’s office after this. We can save that for the next shoreleave.
McCray: I tell ya one thing. I’m sure learnin’ a lot. :: he chuckled.
S’Jenes: I am also learning, McCray. Specifically that "reasonably safe" appears to be a flexible parameter depending on the participants involved. ::slight pause and looks at McCray::... I am adjusting my expectations accordingly.
Foster: What can I say? I’m a doctor and at the same time I hate being bored, so I’m willing to try crazy things safely. I get what Perax is laying down.
Lystra: Full speed test, or some spatial acrobatics inside asteroids? Decisions, Decisions.
McCray: Just send it. I’m all for it.
S’Jenes: I believe what comes next will provide a memorable set of outcomes.

Foster: Up to you guys. Asteroid exploring or let her rip and see how fast this thing can do. We can do either one before the Conny hails us and tells us to get back before dinner.
Lystra: I vote asteroids. After all, not much you can earn in the way of style points just flying in a straight line. ::she winked at Cade:: Got a hot date you need to get to Cade?
McCray: Astroids for me too.
S’Jenes: If the objective is to maximize both challenge and engagement, Asteroid navigation would provide more of a complex and variable-rich environment.

Foster: No, I don’t have plans. But I know that we need to catch Jalana’a announcement on shinies. And woe betide anyone who misses her presentation of shinies… it’s her favorite thing.
Lystra: Oooh, that’s true. Definitely don’t want to miss one of Jalana’s shinies parties.
McCray: Shinies? Am I missin’ somethin’?
S’Jenes: ::Straps the cookies in with a seatbelt:: Consensus reached, I will prepare for evasive maneuvers. Shinies, McCray, are what they call medals. Awards for service. Commodore Rajel loves her celebrations.

Lystra: Asteroids! We can have a race next shore leave with more shuttles than this. It’d be more fun that way.
McCray: The more I’m around y’all, the more I feel at home!
S’Jenes: I agree with McCray, granted our recreational activity results in survival.

S’Jenes: You don't have to tell me twice. ::buckles up::

Lystra: Just like riding a bike. :: she smiled:: So…asteroids?
McCray: Asteroids!
S’Jenes: ::grips tightly to the seat, betazoid side comes out:: Well... McCray is thrilled, Commander Foster is amused, and considering the desire to impress that I'm sensing from Lystra... I am reconsidering my life choices.
