Commodore Jalana Rajel - Like a snowflake so shiny

Jalana had excused herself from the pleasant group conversation to
come to the official part of the night. She used to do that so
they had more to celebrate and more time to do it. And today for
this Giftmas party they would have quite a number of gifts to hand
out. She stepped to a bit of a higher spot on the stairs leading
to the frozen lake used for ice skating. She looked around the
officers, civilians and their families. Her family.
She smiled and then this little woman proved that she had an
impressive organ as she called out.
Rajel: Evening everyone! May I have your attention?
Anyone: response
She waited and gave them the time to quiet down and focus on her
before she spoke again.
Rajel: Those of you who have been here for a while know already
that we do like our parties and that I do like to make them more
special by showing my appreciation with something you can actually
see. So long story short, it is time for shinies ::She grinned.::
Anyone: response
Rajel: While our time on Endaasi was supposed to be a vacation I
am immensely proud of everyone of you who - without hesitation -
jumped in to help in any capacity possible. Today I am thrilled
that I can show this appreciation with more than just words. And
how fitting as it is Giftmas.
She smiled and looked to Saveron with a little nod. He would be
handing out the boxes.

Rajel: Today I will begin with Service Ribbons. ::Usually she
started with Promotions but shaking things up was fun. She looked
at the first bout of boxes and then to the front again.:: The
Explorer's Ribbon is awarded to those who are part of discovering
new planets, region or species. While Endaasi and the Marchlands
were already known we have discovered new Species. For one you may
have heard about Ishar. His species is still unknown to us and he
was only known as a Legend on Endaasi that nobody had actually
ever seen. Technically he discovered us as he protected us from
the fires in the mountains but for his discovery I am rewarding
this ribbon to Saveron, Sarah Mason, Lystra and Ravenna Carter.
She herself would receive one too but she never mentioned herself.
She only paused for a moment nodding to those she had mentioned to
come forward to get their ribbons before she spoke again.
Rajel: But we also met another new species. While only briefly
this species as well helped us. The Nalum lives in the Caves of
Endaasi and while it is known to those living there, it is new
life to Starfleet and we are grateful for his help to lead our
team out of the caves into freedom. It is my pleasure to award
this ribbon to Nugra, Cade Foster, Edward spears, and in absentia
Yito Seja. Congratulations to all of you.

Rajel: Our next ribbon is the Innovation ribbon. At times we feel
like everything has been done before and there is nothing new. But
then I hear about new innovative ways of using what we have at our
disposal and out of the box solutions just like I have now. One of
our teams has been working with local limited resources to find a
way to establish a new network on the surface of Endaasi, by
completely re-purposing and reprogramming local drones. It's my
pleasure to reward this ribbon to Atan T'Seva, Lazarus Davis,
Jacob Horne and in absentia to Alex Blair. As well as So'Mior for
his innovative and effective use to combine these drones with our
probes for a fully developed emergency and earthquake alert
network.

Rajel: But that was not the only Innovation. In the beginning it
was impossible for us to communicate with Ishar other than through
Saveron's telepathy. A team of hard-working Officers has done what
I did not know possible. They completely overhauled our Universal
Translator System and connected it with a neural network that
keeps learning by using it. This now makes it possible to speak
with Ishar. And while it still has a lot to learn it is a
brilliant innovation. Hence I am rewarding the Innovation ribbon
for this work to Lazarus Davis, Lystra, Mia Vitale and in absentia
Tagia Jutto. But because before this there was no other way,
Saveron has but himself in harms way and found a peaceful solution
when nobody else could. For that I am rewarding him with the
Diplomacy Ribbon. Congratulations.

Rajel: The Scientific Discovery Ribbon is rewarded to those who
make brilliant contributions in break-through of the science
field. One of these Discoveries was to find the incredible chain
of circumstances under which the Earthquakes occurred and what
caused them. For that I am happy to reward this Ribbon to K'Vash,
Ahmose Hebeny, So'Mior and T'Sera. Congratulations.
She smiled and glanced to Saveron for a moment, seeing his
daughter rewarded, would he feel pride? Or was she just doing her
job? Maybe both?

Rajel: I heard a quote from a human a long time ago, that in times
of struggle we should look at the helpers. And that is what I
would like to do today as well. Some of us and many vacationers
and Endaasi may not be here any more without these helpers. So it
is my honor to reward Cade Foster, Edward Spears, Ozameen Malyz,
H'Rhaedrol Barr and Mark Two the Lifesaving ribbon for their front
line aid of the inhabitants, vacationers and members of our
Constitution Family. Also for saving my team from a fate in the
freezing mountains I am happy to award the Silver Lifesaving
Ribbon to Shedet and in absentia Tagia Jutto. Last but not least
for stabilizing, safely transporting and treating and with that
saving Ishar, I am awarding the Lifesaving Ribbon to Ravenna
Carter and Saveron. Congratulations!

Rajel: We were incredibly lucky, but we did not go completely
without injuries. You all might be aware of how strange it feels
to give this as an award. So for only being hurt and not worse, I
am rewarding Lystra with the Purple heard. And instead of
congratulations I will say, try not to do it again. ::She smirked
at the Boslic::

Rajel: Another way to help is to jump in where it is most needed.
That requires the eye for seeing the whole picture and
prioritizing the fire hazards - figuratively. Shedet and Tagia did
this as soon as they came on board and for that I reward them both
- one here and one in absentia - with a ribbon awarded to those
who distinguish themselves by exceptionally meritorious conduct in
their service, the Legion of Merit. Congratulations.

Rajel: Last but not least, all of you... of us, have participated
in this momentous event. Two new species, one of which came with
us so it was us allowed to study him further and learn about him
and his people. The path is still long for mutual understanding,
but the first step is the one we took together. And for that
everyone who participated in this mission - be it during shore
leave or not - is awarded with the First Contact Ribbon. Now as
that is quite the number of people, these boxes are delivered to
you directly. ::Smiling:: A big congratulations to everyone, I am
proud of every single one of you!
She raised her hands and applauded for them all with a wide smile,
and her eyes shining with joy and pride.

After a moment she raised her hand again.
Rajel: I know you want to celebrate but we are not done yet. As
you may have noticed Alex is not here with us, he has been
transferred and so his position has been vacant. But not for long.
I am grateful and thrilled to announce that the position of First
Officer has been filled by Saveron.
Anyone: response
Rajel: And this is where I will hand the reins over for the rest
of the official part to our newly minced First Officer. ::She
smiled to Saveron and stepped aside to the table where a couple of
boxes were still remaining.
