As Jin'Tauri spoke, Avoo'na kept an eye on the aliens with their tele-bionics. One of them looked in their direction but based on the lack of reaction from the alien Avoo'na doubted that the alien had any sort of infrared vision.

Avoo'na: They have turned their attention away from the rock.

Jin'Tauri: Such short attention spans. ::they sniffed somewhat disdainfully:: that means we have to increase the gamble to keep the invaders’ attentions.

Avoo'na: If you can make it seem as though the energy is coming from somewhere else, could we try to make it seem like there are more of us? Create the illusion of more teams?

Jin'Tauri: ::they rubbed their left ear thoughtfully:: Within a certain scope, yes. We can only send out so many signals and messages at once, but we should be able to bounce several signals around.

Avoo'na: Good.

Jin’Tauri: Since they know we are here because we cut the obsidian, :they tapped the communications and scanner on their wrist:: let’s see what these interlopers do if we send a single signal from the opposite direction.

Avoo'na briefly looked down to watch as Jin'Tauri set up the signal and sent it out. They looked back down their tele-bionics, waiting for a reaction. After several moments there seemed to be no reaction. One alien looked down at their scanner but the reaction seemed delayed, as though they weren't looking at it because of the signal. Either way the pair began to move.

Avoo'na: They appear to be headed towards more even terrain.

Jin’Tauri: try bouncing a signal from over there. ::they pointed in a direction that would allow the invaders to choose whether they would move toward or away from the signals without drawing them towards their equipment.:: Do you think they will follow the signals or do you think they will attempt to withdraw?

Avoo'na used their wrist computer to set up their own signal aiming it where Jin'Tauri had pointed.

Avoo’na: Follow, I think. They went towards the rock after it stopped moving to study it. They may try to study the signals.

Jin'Tauri: response

Avoo'na felt the ground beneath them shake, a rolling wave that passed through the ground. Quakes on land felt different than in the sea. In the sea the plants would move, then came the waves as the energy transferred from the seafloor and into the water.

Avoo'na: What's your deity say?

Jin'Tauri: response

The aliens were nearly to the ridge now.

Avoo'na: Our signals don’t seem to have gotten their attention. Let’s move, we need to keep them in our sights. They appear to be headed towards the ruins, they might notice the equipment we have there if they wander too far.

Jin'Tauri: response

Avoo'na took one last look at the aliens through their tele-bionics, before making their move. Crouching as they moved, Avoo'na avoided the main path the aliens were traveling on entirely-- the tree line thinned out near the rocky structures that made up the site that Avoo'na and Jin'Tauri had found and they weren't looking to get noticed just because one of the aliens decided to turn around. Instead they maneuvered their way through the foliage, that way when they reached the ruins they wouldn't be right next to the aliens.

They slowed to a stop once they noticed the large structures, Avoo'na went back into their squat position from before and pointed their tele-bionics in the direction of where the main path opened up into a basin. They saw the aliens already there.

Avoo'na: They're here. We should be far enough back in the treeline to avoid detection. Can you try sending another signal?

The ruins were big enough that the aliens wouldn't find the energy monitoring equipment immediately, but if they stayed in the ruins it would only be a matter of time.

Jin'Tauri: response
