N'bel: Hold fire Ta'an. Let's see if they are more communicative now.
N'bel saw his kin nod their head and resume scanning their screens for any change before looking back to him.
Ta'an: Nothing so far.
N'Bel: Hrmm, I noticed that their shields were not raised, and their weapons were not very accurate.
Ta'an: No. I noticed it too. Their shields were non existent, they moved slow and what they fired, missed us by far.
N'Bel: Are they that incompetent do you think?
Ta'an: I believe, that either they missed on purpose, or they were unable to lock onto us.
N'Bel: Response
The console before them beeped and they furrowed their brows.
Ta'an: We receive a transmission.. it's garbled. ::Their brows raise:: It's short.. and repeated. We may be able to decipher it by running the matrix over it as it repeats.
N'Bel: ::looks to them:: Do it. See what you can learn.

N'bel waited while Ta'an worked quickly. Normally a patient being, now that combat had been joined, he wanted to see things through. But the other ships odd behavior was confusing. Could he have misinterpreted things?
