::The numbing cold blasted the away team as they exited into the open area before the Governor's Mansion. Even Jona felt it prudent to zip up his coat and cover his head with the faux fur hood.::

Reidella: I hope that you are able to help coordinate the evacuation. We have a very limited leadership. It is mostly just myself and Sqeour.

Whittaker: Of course! ::he called out above the howling of the wind.:: We won't abandon you. Not now.

Stendhal:  Of course not, we can’t! We’ll help to coordinate everything! 

ch'Ranni: ::shouting:: Where should we start?

::Ever the tactician, the Magna Roman security guard at Jona's left shoulder spoke up and showed he was already thinking two steps ahead.::

Serinus:  Once we have all convened, I will reach out to Sqeour, so that we can coordinate in route defense.  

::Reidella wordlessly led the group to the steps of an old re-purposed freighter and the team trudged up the snowpacked concrete steps to the hatchway that served as the front door. The Ja'Kel woman threw the door open and the group piled inside. Tiny faces from a variety of species turned to look at the newcomers.::

Reyes: And that is when-  ::In confusion:: Governor?

Reidella: Sorry to interrupt your class, everyone. ::forcing a smile:: We have some visitors today, and we’re going on a field trip into the mountains!

::Jona smiled slightly at the excited chatter and energy that filled the kids as they gathered their things. It was amazing how kids across the galaxy acted so similarly.::

ch'Ranni: oO Seems like that says something about people in general. Oo

Stendhal: ::smiling at the youths:: Yeah and adventure! All together!

Reidella: Dolarath, Celdan, Franklin, Ara, Sato, Yanol, and Kaironn. ::turning back to the Starfleet officers:: We’ll also need to go check with Doctor Velross. He does have two patients who may need help being moved.

::Jona cringed slightly at the mention of the name of the last child but quickly turned back to the captain as he spoke up.::

Whittaker: Mr. ch'Ranni, could we use the shuttles short range transporters to facilitate their movement?

::It seemed the counselor had the same idea at the same time as the captain.::

Stendhal:  Oh patients to move! That will be interesting! Maybe we can use our shuttle?  

ch'Ranni: ::taking out his tricorder and scanning the area:: The kelbonite deposits would allow for us to transport the doctor and their patients to a central location but not all the way to the caves. It would be best to reserve the shuttle for the infirm and elderly who can't make the journey on foot. I can fly the shuttle remotely from here and begin transporting citizens in outlying areas to the forum outside so we can leave more quickly.

::Two of Safe Harbor's citizens, a Losarian and a Sopressian, entered the schoolhouse behind the group. To Jona's untrained eye, the gray-skinned Sopressian bore a passing resemblance to a man he had punched a few months ago aboard the Columbia. Perhaps he was a relative of that brute from Kaironn's pirate crew? The Andorian hoped not. The teacher seemed to be getting annoyed with the growing crowd standing in the rear of her classroom.::

Reyes: Would somebody mind telling me what is going on? There were no field trips scheduled for another three months!

Stendhal: ::soothingly:: Field trip, yeah, that’s a good idea. Please help me, we are doing like a field trip to the Red Rock Caves. I’ll explain you later, for now please, follow us! We have the Governor agreements.

ch'Ranni: Everyone in Safe Harbor will be there! :: Jona looked at the kids while he spoke but noted that the teacher seemed to get the idea that this was an emergency situation and not a class outing.:: Grab your coats and stay together while we gather everyone outside.

Serinus:  So, as you can see, it would do us all well to remain calm.  

Reidella: ?

Whittaker: Governor- ::he said looking at the still worried teacher before looking to Reidella.:: - perhaps we should move on. Time is of the essence and the journey to the caves will not be easy in this weather, I fear.

Reidella: ?

ch'Ranni: ::busily tapping commands into his tricorder:: Captain, the shuttle has arrived. Beginning emergency transport of people to the forum. We should alert those within walking distance to gather there.

Stendhal:  You don’t have emergency vans err or like a train or some kind of transportations here ? Snow scooter?

ch'Ranni: Captain, that's the last of them. The shuttle isn't picking up any lifesigns in town except for those gathered here. I think we are ready to move out.
