Ensign Dasal - Like a Sandwich

Dasal: Is this the only med? Sorry, I got the info of the ship but it was a lot, like a lot-a-lot and I kind of tried to focus on just stuff but yaaa.
Doucet: Yes, this is the only Sickbay we’ve got on the Chin’toka. The Akira-class is a heavy cruiser focused on torpedoes and fighters, so most of the space on the ship is geared towards ship to ship battle or supporting small craft. The main shuttlebay is huge. It runs the length of the main hull.
Dasal: Oh so this is more of a fighter ship, cool, cool. I don’t really know ships that much. I just think they all look cool. I did notice this one was more like a sandwich then… well a food that’s taller.
He made a face as he tried to think up his own metaphor, one he was still working out. He eventually gave up on the idea; he’d made his point. The ship was small instead of tall. Pushing up his sleeves, he continued his childish inspection until Doctor Doucet motioned for him to follow. He popped up and went over to her. He almost reached out to pat her on the head. Nope—nope; that would be inappropriate. They had just met, and she wasn’t his friend yet.
Doucet: Mmhm! We have four wards with three biobeds each, meaning twelve overall. In a pinch, we can set up more beds but the biobeds are all that will be able to do diagnostics without our tricorders and eyeballs. The chief’s office is over there. There’s four operating rooms, two on each side. The containment area is at the end of that hallway and that door leads to the medical lab. Around the corner is where you’ll find the primary replicator and medical stores.
Dasal: Still more than I have to work with. I mean the academy has a lot of stuff but it’s not… real? I mean it is real but not real, real.
Doucet: Believe it or not, this is actually smaller than the Sickbay where I first served. The USS Astraeus is a Galaxy-class and on that one, they’ve got basically a whole hospital! Which makes sense, I guess, since that’s meant to be a long-range explorer where this one isn’t. Did you want to take a quick look at the laboratory or shall I show you where you can get some of the best coffee here? Or tea if you’re not a coffee drinker.
Dasal: Oh shi- ::coughs:: shoot, really a whole hospital. I guess that makes sense. So this doesn’t as long trip and stuff?
Looking around, he wanted to poke at more things, but he would be half living there in the future, so it was best to find out where they kept the chemical aids (aka. caffeine).
Dasal: Totally, show me your secret stash. Honestly I drink anything that gets me through the day. Med school taught me two things: how to save lives… and how to function with zero sleep.
Doucet: Respond
Korin followed them as they led the way, stopping every now and then to look at a random bulkhead and take it in. Then he took a few hopping steps to catch up with Doucet.
Dasal: So the ship isn’t as big as that Galaxy-class ship you mentioned. Man, that's kind of embarrassing. I already got lost twice trying to get to sickbay. Musta been even harder on a bigger ship.
Doucet: Respond
Dasal: You also mentioned a Doctor Edrei. They the full time doc? I saw their name on my transfer stuff. What are they like? Do I need to be scared?
