(( OOC: Generally, we try to avoid using back tags, but in this case, it was the only way I could make some things make sense in my mind, so apologies for that. I did make sure they were at the end of the sim, so it shouldn't be too bad. ))

(( The Whimsical Shrimp, Maklau, Risa ))

While V’Nille was speaking, S’Rorr took his selections up to the counter, and she realized she hadn’t made a selection of her own. She didn’t pay much attention to what she was grabbing, but grabbed a box with some kind of game in it. She quickly checked out, still listening to the conversation, then took the bag it came in.

S'Rorr: What d'you think? Should we get some hot drinks and find a quiet place to play some games?

Shivara: I’m all for that! What do you say, V’Nille?

V'Nille: Absolutely! Do you have a place in mind, S’Rorr?

S’Rorr: I think I saw a tea house on the way here, while I was wandering around. Looked like a really cozy spot.

V’Nille: Lead the way then, Doctor!

S’Rorr: Aye, Commander. Let's go, Shivara.

She took her bag and walked alongside S’Rorr, allowing him to lead.

Shivara: Right behind you.

S’Rorr led them along some stone paths, and while at first she thought he might be lost, the fragrant aroma of tea soon wafted into her nostrils and she took a deep breath in, admiring the scent. She had followed along, admiring the breeze, the scent of the ocean (which smelled faintly of fish, a most delicious aroma), and other wonderful sights, but she was more than ready to try her luck at a table game against S’Rorr. And V’Nille, of course.

((Tea House, Maklau, Risa))

The place was rather enchanting when she entered. It wasn’t very large, and there were only a few people inside. However, it was open and low tables could be seen behind some wide archways. The breeze carried the scent of the ocean inside the open space and blew the silken tapestries softly. Overhead, blossom-shaped lanterns emitted a soft amber glow, adding an air of enchantment to the place, and in the center was an indoor fountain featuring a marble bowl that was held by a Risian male. Wind chimes could be heard tinkling in the breeze and she immediately felt relaxed in the tea house.

V’Nille: So, this place you mentioned … you mentioned it has a specific space for people to play a game?

S'Rorr: That's right. There, at one of those tables. I saw some people playing a dice game there earlier. How about that spot?

Shivara: That works perfectly, Rory.

V’Nille: Huh. Interesting. I’ve heard of those places before, but this would be my first time actually visiting one. I had a human crewmate once that was madly into tabletop gaming. Something with miniatures shaped like toy soldiers?

She heard the purr coming from S’Rorr and knew he was interested by that tidbit. She was interested by the concept, but otherwise it didn’t seem overly fascinating to her.

S'Rorr: War games. I love those. There's a variant where you have two people play as commanders who can't see the battlefield, two people play as messengers, and two play as lieutenants who execute orders. That's a lot of fun. I looove stuff like that. I even sculpt my own little minis.

She was a doctor, so the idea of war was almost abhorrent to her and it made almost no sense to actually play war with toy soldiers. The possibility of the real thing was bad enough, let alone seek entertainment by the idea.

They took their seats at the table and Rory pulled out a deck of Ferengi cards. She seriously hoped he wasn’t about to suggest Tongo to her. She had no latinum in the first place, but she’d also lost a small fortune to a rather weasely Ferengi back on Earth a few years back playing the game. There was no way she was eager to repeat that experience.

Shivara: What’s the name of the game, S’Rorr, and how is it played?

S’Rorr: Response

V'Nille: Response

She thought about it. She wasn’t sure she quite understood, but it wasn’t like the stakes were real. And besides, there were no Ferengi at the table and this was all just for fun.

Shivara: I don’t think I quite get it yet, but I am sure I will pick it up as we go along.

V'Nille: Response

And with that, S’Rorr folded his legs under him and curled his tail around his body before shuffling the cards.

S'Rorr: Let's see.. The one with the most latinum goes first. I don't think any of us have any money, but you're highest rank, Commander, so it's your turn.

V’Nille: Response

Shivara: Bold move, V’Nille. Are you sure?

V’Nille: Response

S’Rorr: Response
