The battle raged around them, the bridge crew of the Chin'toka, the Aegis, and the fighter complement were on the precipice of knocking the Passchendaele out of the fight.
McGillian: ::to Sherlock:: If the Aegis and fighters can give them everything they’ve got, this second volley should knock the Passchendaele out of the fight!
Mac watched between the attack on the viewscreen and the tactical station. Smaller beams from the fighters and one rather large one from the Norway Class ships lance phaser pounded the shields of the Passchendaele until the moment they had been waiting for arrived. The shields were down...
Sherlock: They're shields are down. Shoot to disable. Send it!
Not wanting to outright destroy the ship, Mac targeted phasers and two photons into the aft nacelle. It lit up like Christmas. Again, Mac hit the transporters, beaming out their photon compliment. He turned his head to the side and with a slight grin said...
McGillian: Someone's limping home.
Sherlock: Aegis and the fighters are moving to cover our flanks, Captain.
Serala/Kel: response
Stapledon: I've got something. Pretty banged up, but it matches the profile of an escape pod. It's in the middle of a debris field moving on a trajectory originating with the starbase.
Hearing that, Mac's fingers danced across the tactical station. It was time to target an escape pod with the tractor beam.
Ilsam: response
Sherlock: Then that's where we go next.
Stapledon: Sirs, USS Belleau Wood on an intercept course, aft of us. Shuttle Delvok is falling away to intercept.
Sherlock/Serala: Response?
Stapledon: The Delvok is engaging their tetrion field. I'm seeing strange and erratic behaviour from the Belleau Wood. They've stopped...
Sherlock/Serala: Response?
Lieutenant Commander Brodie's voice popped up onto the bridge.
Brodie: =/\= Brodie to Bridge. Be advised, the main sickbay is out of commission due to a plasma fire. All patients are secure and Doctor Doucet is transferring them to other wards. Anyone requiring critical care should come directly to ward four. Non-critical casualties should attend manned aid stations. =/\=
Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=
McGillian oO Oh crap! Oo
Looking back at the tactical console, the damage report section confirmed the counselor's statement. Mac wasn't sure if he should have reported that to the Captain when it was happening, or not. They did have a lot going on up here. Still, if he had missed reporting that, he'd need to do better next time. Hopefully operations had sent a fire control team, if they even had one available...
Then, Xiron's voice followed suit.
Xiron:=/\=Xiron to the Bridge, we are going to need to vent a large amount of super-heated plasma to space.=/\=
McGillian oO Well that doesn't sound good Oo
Refocusing himself on the task at hand, Mac targeted the escape pod right as it came within range of the tractor beam.
McGillian: I've got a lock on the escape pod, bringing it in.
Serala/Sherlock: Responses
It didn't take long at all for the Chin'toka's tractor beam to bring the president's pod on board safe and sound.
McGillian: ::shouting and smiling:: We got him! We got him!
Well, the crew definitely had one thing going for them now that could protect them against being court marshalled. They saved the president.... assuming the ship didn't explode at any point.
