(( Mountains, South of the wreckage, Ah’rak IV ))

Seleya: We do have flashlights, but I would recommend only using them if necessary. Turning them on may give away our position.

Brodie: Makes sense, we can flip our tricorders to image the terrain ahead of us…should give a meter or two so we can see where we’re going even in the dark.

Serala: :: nodding :: Good thinking.

Seleya: If we don’t get the Ah’rakkian’s support. Will we be entering the ship or conducting more recon?

Brodie: It's obviously you call, Captain but we may need to take direct action at some point if our people remain captive; particularly if they are unreceptive to talking.

Serala: Yes, I don’t like the idea, but I’m leaving our people in the hands of terrorists.

Brodie: Perhaps we should check in with Aine before we…

Seleya heard the familiar chirping noise of the communicator and then saw Brodie duck down reach for his phaser. He is probably a bit jumpy, which she could understand for medical officers who may have little combat training. She lowered herself to listen to the conversation, not reaching for her own phaser.

T’Ama: =/\= T’Ama to Captain Serala! =/\=

Brodie: ::Quietly.:: Don’t let her know we’re down here.

Seleya let out a deep breath of relief upon hearing that at least one member of the away team was still alive. She then gave the counselor a quizzical look. She could understand wanting to make sure T’Ama was alone, but surely it would be good to tell them they were trying to rescue them. Deciding it wasn’t her place to interfere, she turned back to her Captain to let her handle it.

Serala: =/\= Go for Serala. What’s your status, Commander? =/\=

T’Ama: =/\= Some kind of terrorist group that was hold up in here captured us. Started interrogating us separately with a side of torture. I just escaped but they messed Edrei up, pretty bad from the five seconds I saw of her. =/\=

She was at least alive, though she was less of a fan of negotiations after hearing that they tortured two of her friends. They probably didn’t have much time before someone discovered T’Ama’s escape. Seleya could only hope the Commander would be able to give their team more information than the telepathic game of telephone between her chief and Lieutenant Xiron had provided.

T’Ama: =/\= That guy lied to me! There’s none of our equipment in this room! =/\=

Serala: =/\= Focus, Commander. We need information. =/\=

Brodie: =/\= T’Ama - are the rest of the team okay? =/\=

T’Ama: =/\= Nevermind. The rest of the team is locked in the brig. I bought a little time, but as soon as they find I’m loose there won’t be any, and all I have are very loud ballistic firearms. =/\=

Now having a location, Seleya opened her tricorder to check the schematics to see if the brig was included in them. After a bit of searching she found it.

Brodie: =/\= Don’t get into a fight you can’t win… =/\=

Seleya gave another weird look to Brodie at his advice, but wasn’t going to say anything instead she showed the captain the tricorder to show she knew the location of the away team.

Serala: =/\= Good advice, Commander. =/\=

T’Ama: =/\= response =/\=

Brodie: =/\= It might offer a distraction but that’s a shot you can’t unfire. What can you tell us about your captors? =/\=

Seleya decided to quickly jump in to make sure she could get what she needed. She didn’t have confidence in the negotiation route, given there were anti-warp xenophobe terrorists. And she wanted to present a more concrete plan to the Captain.

Seleya: =/\= Sorry to jump in, numbers, training, and armaments would be the most useful data, any little bit can help.

T’Ama/Brodie: =/\= response =/\=

Seleya: =/\= Thank you, commander. How possible would it be for you to get back to the brig? =/\=

Seleya thought that having them all in one place would make rescuing easier, and they would be able to watch each other’s back.

T’Ama/Brodie: =/\= response =/\=

Serala: =/\= Okay, thank you T’Ama. Do what you can and stay in contact. We’re working on a plan. Serala out. =/\=

T’Ama: =/\= Response =/\=

Brodie: =/\= Response =/\=

Serala: I think we need to step up our timetable. One circuit of the ship, then we go in. Sooner, depending on what happens inside. I am going to contact Sherlock and see where she is on getting that permission from the government.

Seleya: Aye, Captain.

Brodie: Responses

Serala: =/\= Captain Serala to Commander Sherlock. =/\=

Sherlock: =/\= Response =/\=

Serala: =/\= Commander, I hope the local officials can hear me, because time is running out and I need an answer. =/\=

Sherlock: =/\= Response =/\=

Serala: =/\= Good work, Commander. We’ll be taking a team in shortly. Serala out. =/\=

Serala: Okay, we’re going in. I would have liked more time to recon, but we’re going with what we have. Seleya, load those plans into your tricorder. You’ll be in charge of the security teams. Counselor, you’ll be along, but your main job is to engage in discussions with the terrorists when we engage. I still don’t want to harm anyone.

Seleya was a bit confused by what the plans the captain mentioned. She assumed she meant the schematics she already had on her tricorder and thought it was a minor oversight.

Brodie: Response

Serala: I retain overall command. We go in through the opening in the valley wall, then proceed cautiously inside.

Seleya: Aye Captain. I will get the security team ready.

Brodie: Response

Serala: Response

Seleya moved down the incline back to the staging area to the waiting security team. She gave them the update on the situation, and had them start getting ready. She had to admit it felt odd ordering them around, probably someone better suited for this, but she wasn’t going to argue with the Captain right now.

Brodie/Serala: Response

Seleya: Security is ready, Captain. But I would like to raise a concern that the Terrorist having a strong anti-warp stance and seeming to be against aliens, they may not want to negotiate with an alien from a warp capable species and that may put Doctor Brodie in danger.
