((USS Chin’toka, Deck 2, Port Observation Deck))
Sherlock: Well, that and I could ::beat:: maybe ::beat:: get in some trouble.
Seleya: Oh no.. I promise I am not unfamiliar with this trouble person, and in fact know them on a very intimate basis, so your secret is safe with me.
Aine grinned back when Seleya gave her a wink. She couldn't really get in trouble for telling the next part, she was just saying that. Thing was that HQ knew about the "relationship." She'd reported it right away. But they still expected her to do her job as the Chief of Tactical for an entire sector.
Sherlock: Back when I was stationed on Starbase One-One-Eight, there was an incident with the Romulans, it was complicated. But after, we worked towards a peace. The Free State even sent representatives, including a Romulan Commander that I knew. I'd helped save him and his crew a couple years prior. And well, as things do, they took a turn. Now ::holding up a hand:: it was mostly just casual, nothing serious. ::bringing the glass to her lips:: Except that I was also stealing information on their new ship designs at the same time.
Seleya: Oh! I am very familiar with that as well. It’s very secret, very classified and very non casual. But she was a Subcommander and I also stole some information from her. They were not happy about it.
Sherlock: I remember that one. Sometimes, you just have to do your duty.
She let out a slight laugh as she took another sip of her whiskey.
Seleya: What happened to the Commander after you got the information you needed?
Sherlock: Ummm ::beat:: last I heard he was no longer in that sector. Who knows what they've got him doing now. I just know that he was working on some of their more recent technological developments when it came to cloaking. As far as I know, he's gone for good. Who knows?
Seleya: Well, you're still here, so that’s good.. For me at least.
Sherlock: And I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
((OOC: This obviously takes place before Aine finds out she's no longer FO.))
This was where she needed to be. Not that exact moment, just her time in history. As much as the Chin'toka needed her, she needed the crew as well. All the changes in her career, she never asked for, never sought out. They just seemed to happen. And even when they were unexpected, she knew there were reasons behind them.
Seleya: What do you say we get out of here and make a story of our own?
Seleya's hand reached out and gripped Aine's, followed by what Aine read as a sly grin.
Sherlock: Yeah, let's go back to your quarters.
Seleya: response
Sherlock: Oh, absolutely. ::beat:: So I can put you to bed ::beat:: alone.
Seleya: response
The smile across Aine's face in that moment was nearly breaking out into a laugh. This had been fun, but it wasn't going to go THAT way. Maybe if it had been a year and a half earlier, but not now.
Sherlock: You've been through some stuff recently, you're drunk, and this isn't happening. ::long pause:: But it was a nice try though.
Seleya: response
