Edrei: Did we win?
Madeleine turned to look at Edrei – She was thankfully unhurt… or well, hurt any further. It was hard to tell. Is’kah on the other hand was bleeding from a gunshot and several other places, but was standing.
Is’kah for her part was doing some kind of vulcan breathing exercise, and had a rifle in her grip.
Koyama: ::Sitting up and grabbing one of the rifles on the floor.:: Do you need to bandage that before we go?
Is’Kah: We did, Doctor. ::To Koyama:: We don’t have time to patch me up; we can do that after we find a place to hide, even if it’s on this vessel. I will take point and clear each room, but I’ll need you to open the access points. My hands are not usable right now.
Edrei frowned, but still appeared to have difficulty concentrating. Madeleine imagined she could hardly see through the swelling.
Koyama: ::To Is’Kah:: ok – I will be your hands. What's the plan?
Is'Kah: We find T’Ama and our badges. Maybe the medkit, but we need to leave. Doctor, forgive us, but Ensign Koyama will have to help you walk. Once you have her, get ready to open the door.
Edrei: I can walk just fine.
She tried to demonstrate that, and gave a strong effort to stand, but the vertigo and injuries overtook her and she hit the ground, causing Madeleine to wince.
Edrei: Okay, I could maybe actually use a hand.
Koyama: ::walking over:: I can steady you doctor, here, take my hand.
After some adjustments, Madeleine had the spare rifle on one shoulder, and Edrei leaning heavily on the other. Still, they could walk and she had them both readied at the door.
Madeleine turned to look at Is’kah, and nodded.
Is'Kah: Open it in 3… 2… 1… now!
Is’Kah raised her rifle, ready to defend them. Thankfully, it was empty as she stepped through. Madeleine followed and soon they were free.
Edrei: Interrogation room's that way. ::hesitating:: 3rd door on the left? I think.
Is'Kah: Roger. Seems clear right now. Let’s go.
Koyama: Is’Kah, you take point. I cant hardly shoot if anything happens.
The walk to the interrogation room was painfully slow. Literally, figuratively, and spiritually. Madeleine gave another short prayer that they would find T’Ama alive… (and hey, they seemed to be working so far.)
Edrei: It's here.
s'Kah: Can you open the door, Ensign?
Madeleine positioned herself and Edrei by the side of the door next to the panel. She reached over and on a count of three triggered the panel with the stolen guards ID. Quietly, they entered. Is’Kah continued to clear the room, but both Madeleine and Edrei stopped in their tracks – the room was piled with the bodies of the interrogators but T’Ama was not there.
Edrei: Probably fair to say she escaped? ::pause:: We maybe should barricade that door.
Is’Kah: It is not safe. Let’s check the other doors on the way out.
Koyama: Agreed – lead the way.
Is’Kah stepped out, cleared the hall and Madeleine and Edrei joined her.
Is'Kah: Honestly, the first place I’d look for escapees is right next door. Let’s open that one.
Madeleine nodded and repeated the some process as earlier, and readied to follow Is’Kah through the hatchway. The hybrid had snapped zhen rifle up, only to pause, but Madeleine was already moving and stopped next to her, perplexed until she heard T’Ama speak out on the other side.
Edrei: Response
T’Ama: Fyrshii… ::pointing the gun down:: So you did escape. How?
Turning, Is’Kah scanned the hall for enemies while responding.
Is'Kah: Once we heard the gun shot, we attacked by a group coming in for some reason, never did find out exactly why. After a small battle, we escaped, but I wasn't gentle with our self-defense. One of them might have been critically wounded.
Koyama: ::Dryly:: It was two on three, and they had guns.
Edrei: response
T’Ama: So now all of you are injured?
Is'Kah: It happens when you use part of the ship as a shield. We ran out of time to plan.
Madeleine gritted her teeth and adjusted Edrei on her shoulder. Then simply nodded in agreement and affirmation of what Is’Kah had said.
Edrei: response
There was a chirp, which brought relief. They had contact with the ship!
T’Ama: =/\= T’Ama to Serala. There’s no more time. You guys need to get in here now. The brig escape was loud and three are injured. We have to move, but we aren’t moving fast. =/\=
Serala: =/\= response =/\=
T’Ama: =/\= Thanks. =/\=
T’Ama: Okay we need to get away from the populated areas of this ship. Is’Kah and Koyama, you work together on point, I’ll take up the rear and carry Lee.
Is'Kah: Roger, Commander.
Madeleine moved herself and Edrei so she could help her over to T’Ama for support
Edrei: response
After unslinging her rifle, T’Ama gave Koyama a second one, which she accepted.
T’Ama: Here, take the rifle. And everyone try your best not to actually shoot the guns. They are so loud and they’ll bring everyone down on us.
Is'Kah: We are familiar with their sounds.
Koyama: They probably make good clubs though.
Edrei: response
T’Ama: ::firmly:: My point is, only fire them as a last resort.
T’Ama hefted Lee over her shoulder in a fireman's carry.
T’Ama: Sorry you don’t get the princess treatment.
Edrei: response
Madeleine took the extra rifle and slung it over one shoulder. She took the other and put it in a low ready, then took position next to and slightly behind Is’Kah, who after checking both direction were clear, led them down the hall,
Coming to a 90 degree turn, Is’Kah knelt next to the wall and checked for targets.
Is'Kah: Clear.
Madeleine raised her rifle and walked out into the corner slowly till she hit the far wall, then proceeded down the perpendicular corridor, covering the opposite side.
Edrei: Response
It wasn’t long until they came upon a T intersection.
Is'Kah: Commander, which direction?
T’Ama: Left.
Edrei: response
Nodding, Is’Kah pointed at one part of the wall for Koyama to take a position at. The hybrid took a position opposite the Engineer.
Is'Kah: On the count of three, we’ll clear the hallway. Ready?
Koyama: Ready.
T’Ama: Ready. One… two… th-
Before she could finish, a loud noise began to build and build, then it was on them with a loud booming crash. The deck shook, people lost their balance, and Madeleine had to lean against a wall and grab a handhold to keep steady. The noise was so loud she couldn’t hear anything else, and the pain became so intense that Madeleine allowed herself to fall to the floor, eyes closed, hands over her ears. Her vision soon became a tunnel as time itself began to become a suggestion and the horrible noise she heard and felt became a distant invader at the end of that tunnel.
T’Ama: ::Unintelligible::
Is'Kah: ::Unintelligible::
Madeleine came to, vision beginning to return to normal, but the ringing in her ears remained and it was difficult to make anything out.
Edrei: response
Suddenly, a ceiling panel fell, making Is’Kah jump, and bringing Madeleine out of her fugue.
T’Ama: We do appear to be still alive at least. And not buried in rubble. Or burned.
Is'Kah: Thank Hades for the small things.
Koyama:
::flexing
her jaw and trying to recenter herself::
Mawp? ::
Pause:: Ok.. No, we are fine it seems, alive. Mostly.
Edrei:
response
Another noise started now, an eerie, groaning kind of wail that seemed to come from the ship itself and sent the hairs on the back of her neck standing up.
T’Ama: I’m so over this place.
Is'Kah: Agreed.
Koyama: What in the…? Ok, whatever that is is NOT helping.
Edrei: response
Is'Kah: If there were anyone around the corner, they’d know we’re here.
Is”kah leaned out, checking both ways before stepping out. Madeleine got to her feet and followed, covering the opposite wall as before.
T’Ama/Edrei: response
Is'Kah: Commander, do we know where we’re going?
T’Ama/Edrei: response
Is'Kah: I see. Ma’am, since we have been communicating with the captain, is it possible to use the combadge as a locator beacon for them to track us down despite the interference, or to have the badge beep when we are walking towards the other away team? I believe there is, but I'm not thinking clear enough to remember.
T’Ama/Edrei: response
Koyama: If I had my tools I could boost it. Not sure about now though. Maybe with a hairclip, but I’d need to short the power and it wouldn’t be the safest maneuver. Fry the badge too.
T’Ama/Edrei/Is'Kah: Response
As they continued to debate what to do the wailing noise continued, building and building, becoming harder than ever to ignore. Madeleine could feel it through the ship's hull plating, a deep rumbling discontent that made her feel.. longing? Loss? It was worse than any opera or piece of man made music she had ever heard, and she felt it in a way that was almost mental rather than physical.
Koyama: Please tell me I’m not the only one hearing that? It…. It's so… Sad. Can ships even be sad?
T’Ama/Edrei/Is'Kah: Response
