Lieutenant JG Seleya- Meeting the new Ensign

It had been another long day of classes for Seleya. Each day was becoming more intensive than the last as she approached the end of her training. She was feeling more confident with the material, at least, though still nervous about the upcoming exam. Instead of returning to the ship, Seleya decided to sit at one of the seating areas near a café. She ordered herself some Yridian tea. Unfortunately, they didn’t have her people’s enqil tea, not surprising, but still disappointing. She stretched out across an entire couch as she reviewed her PADD.
After the awards ceremony, Seleya had received her orders confirming that once her classes were complete, she would be joining most of her fellow crewmembers on their transfer to the Valkyrie-A. At least she wouldn’t need to say many goodbyes. Given her past tendencies, she probably wouldn’t have told anyone beyond the Captain, First Officer, and her chief anyway. But now that wouldn’t be necessary.
Seleya wasn’t sure how much time had passed when she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw what appeared to be a human,possibly, it was hard to tell, given how similar some species looked to humans. He wore a medical-blue uniform, but Seleya didn’t recognize him immediately, though something about him seemed familiar.
Seleya: Hello?

Seleya’s eyes lit up with sudden realization. She finally remembered hearing about the new doctor who had been assigned to the Chin’toka, only to be reassigned to the Valkyrie a week later. Hopefully he hadn’t unpacked too much before learning he’d have to move ships again.
Seleya: Apologies, I am Lieutenant Junior Grade, Seleya of Khanda. Tac/sec officer on the Chin’toka, but soon to be Intel officer for the Valkyrie.

Seleya: You may join me if you wish.
Seleya motioned to the empty seat, tilting her head slightly as she studied the new ensign. It hadn’t even been a year since she herself had been a fresh Academy graduate, just stepping into her first assignment.
