S'Rorr: Do you think she'll serve cocktails? I've always wanted to try a
sazerac. It sounds like such a dirty word in my native.

oO Sazerac. Sazeraaaac, hah. Rude. I need one. Oo

Shivara: I could go for a cocktail. Or a mocktail since I’m a bit of a
lightweight when it comes to drinking.

V'Nille nodded eagerly as she lead the two other Caitians, S'Rorr and Shivara, through the busy, ancient streets of New Orleans. Somewhere out there, noisy trumpet music was blasting.

V'Nille: Probably. Her restaurant is supposed to have a full bar but I
don’t know if there’ll be a bartender there tonight. ::beat:: Unless she’s
picked up the skills for it, which would be right up her alley. Come on,
let’s find her and get out of the cold.

S’Rorr: Here's hoping. I've got a tooth for it tonight.

Shivara: So, do either of you have big plans for shore leave? Aside from
this, I mean?

V’Nille: Not particularly! This is actually the first time I’ve been to
Earth, so I figured I’d play tourist.

S’Rorr: A few things. I want to go and visit the Academy again, pick up some of my old things I left behind and maybe see how Cap.. er.. Commodore Mei'konda is getting on. Other than that, Commander Ada wants to go hiking in Pennsylvania, I thought I'd join her. Sounds like a lot of fun. Gonna freeze solid. What about you?

Shivara: I don’t really have any. I am just playing this one day at a time.
Honestly, I spent all my time at Starfleet Medical Academy and never really
got out. I don’t know much about Earth and what there is to do here.

V’Nille: Ah. I trained at the campus at Ferasa since it’s closer to my
homeworld. Same, though, as far as not getting far out of the Academy. They
liked to keep us busy and there was plenty to do close to the campus when I
wasn’t studying.

S’Rorr: I did my primary school and pre-med on Ferasa, but not at the big schools; I had Vulcan tutors. And my mothers. My education was all private before I made it to San Fransisco.

S'Rorr didn't have an opportunity to reminisce too much as he spotted another Caitian with his nose first, then his eyes. oO That must be C'Reem. Oo

Both groups began waving excitedly at one another and S'Rorr picked up his pace to keep up with V'Nille as they came together in the cool air, under that rising moon and neon light.

C'Reem was taller than V'Nille, but S'Rorr could smell the family resemblance. She was pure white from tip to tail and Rory thought that looked very striking, especially the way that white fur picked up the vibrant colors from the lighting all around. Perfectly, or at least nearly, solid colors were quite rare amongst Caitians and in were in Rory's culture, at least, considered quite handsome.

She stood with a taller human woman who was bundled up in warm clothes. She had red hair under a black beanie and icy blue eyes.

V’Nille: Hello, sister! These are my crewmates and friends, S’Rorr and
Shivara.

C’Reem: Hey, V’Nille. It’s nice to see you and I’m glad to meet you two,
S’Rorr and Shivara. This is Molly Wallace, the chef I mentioned in my
invitation.

Wallace: Pleased to meetcha! C’Reem has told me a lot of stories about you,
V’Nille. It sounds like you get along well!

Molly extended a hand to shake and V'Nille stepped forward. They shook hands, and S'Rorr took his turn right after to shake Molly's hand as well. He made room for Shivara to have the third shake.

V’Nille: I like to think we do! Let me know if you want the embarrassing
stories. I’m happy to share!

To that C'Reem shook her head and groaned which had S'Rorr chuckling.

S’Rorr: Oooo, yeah spill that tea later! That sounds fun.

Shivara: Response

Wallace: Well, C’Reem and I would be terrible hostesses if we didn’t get
you in from the cold as soon as possible. I have my van somewhere around
here. I’ll bring it around.

V’Nille: How far is your place?

C’Reem: It is a thirty minute drive, more or less. Maybe less, depending on
how fast Molly is feeling tonight.

Molly winked at them before walking away, presumably to get the Van. S'Rorr hadn't been in a wheeled vehicle since he'd ridden one around California with a friend from med school and he was excited to get another opportunity.

S'Rorr: Not too fast, I hope.

Shivara: Response

V’Nille: So how did you two meet anyway? You never said.

C’Reem: It was actually through a message board on the ‘net. She is the one
who offered me a place to stay when I said I wanted to visit Earth. She was
in the middle of cooking school at the time, so we ended up swapping
recipes and hitting it off better than either of us anticipated.

She held up one hand.

C’Reem: And before you ask, our relationship is strictly platonic. We’re
housemates and business partners. The fusion cuisine was her idea,
actually. Apparently, Cajun food is already a blend on its own historically
so it just kind of came naturally.

V’Nille: Ah gotcha. We’re all really looking forward to tasting it.

S’Rorr: Yeah, absolutely! I haven't had any real Caitian food since I left Cait. It's been.. gosh, ten years. I'm really excited to see what kinds of twists Molly's got for us, mixing in some of that Cajun.

Shivara: Response

S'Rorr: It's our first time in New Orleans, C'Reem, what should we go and see while we're here?

C'Reem/V'nille/Shivara: Response

S'Rorr: You know what I'd really like to do? Ride on a Mississippi steamboat and play some card games. That sounds fun.

Of course, S'Rorr would want to spend his time playing games.

V'Nille/Shivara: Response

S'Rorr: Oh, is that Molly's van?

S'Rorr perked his ears and leans over to peer down the road at approaching headlights, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket for a little extra warmth.

C'Reem/V'Nille/Shivara: Response
