Edrei: It could be worth asking her next time we see her. And even though it might not be possible to heal her completely, we'll probably be able to fine tune the acute treatment if it happens again, as well as all the preventive steps. You're the one who's been treating her - what do you think?

Doucet: ::nodding:: I agree. Seleya mentioned taking blood thinners before as well as an inhaler. These would work but as she notes herself, the side effects are rough - too rough in her case. I’d like to shift the focus on finding ways to boost her body’s ability to filter out the excess palladium, whether that be through diet or medication. Worst case scenario, we’re talking cybernetics, I think.

She nodded. Side effects could be debilitating.

Edrei: We're not quite there yet. But you're right, and it woulp help knowing her stance on it. Did you have the chance to talk to her about it?

Doucet: I didn’t broach the subject with her, no. I wanted to get a good look at the data we could get before having a conversation about the full range of treatment options. If you look at page … six, I think, it goes into the most likely reasons for why her body is unable to filter it out to the degree it normally would. If we can find the precise medications that the Kazleti themselves use to treat this, we can probably narrow down better avenues of treatment a lot quicker.

She skipped to the indicated page and took a few moments to read the section.

Edrei: The problem is, I don't think this is curable. We can help manage the acute phases and try to prevent them but there's not much else to do. She's going to have to learn how to live with that condition.

Doucet: I agree. Were you ever able to get in touch with her primary care physician from before she joined Starfleet? They would have insights we need here.

She shook her head.

Edrei: No. Is their contact on here? ::she skimmed through the pages:: Oh, it is. I'll give them a call later today.

Doucet: Response

Edrei: Currently, I think the best option is what you proposed. Managing through diet, light exercise and medication as needed. Let's hope it stabilizes this way so we don't need to resort to harsher acute treatments.

Doucet: Response

Edrei: Alright, sounds good. Was there anything else about it?

Doucet: Response
