PNPC Lieutenant Sylvie Doucet - Greeting the Newbie

(( OOC: Sylvie Doucet is a Personal Non-Player Character (PNPC for short), hence the PNPC tag in the sim title, while V’Nille is my main character. I write her whenever we need an extra medical character in a scene, mostly, but she is a character all on her own! ))

It was a slow day, as Sylvie fully expected. With the ship largely emptied out due to shore leave, the only people that were reliably going to show up was whoever needed to get work done onboard. That largely meant the workers inspecting the ship and preparing to get the refit going and a few crew members like her that needed to do administrative or other work that was best done with the ship in dock. There were others that simply stayed on the ship for lack of anywhere else to go for the moment, and like today, there were transfers that needed to report in to someone and get familiar with their new working environment. The PADD she held in one hand while sitting on the biobed nearest the main entrance to Sickbay showed the summary of one of Starfleet Academy’s most recent graduates - Korin Dasal.
He was an Angosian, it seemed, so he would look human. Being tall would help his chances of being recognized, but Sylvie just needed to match the picture to the man entering Sickbay for the first time to know he had arrived. She pushed herself off the biobed, brushed stray red hairs out of the way of her brown eyes, and walked over to him with a wave of her PADD.
Doucet: Hello, hello! Korin Dasal, I take it?
Dasal: Response
Sylvie smiled widely and nodded, then gestured expansively to the biobeds arrayed behind her.
Doucet: Welcome to the USS Chin’toka’s Sickbay, Doctor! I am Doctor Sylvie Doucet, the ship’s assistant chief medical officer. Doctor Edrei is the chief, but she is busy at the moment so I will be giving you a tour of this place. It’s slow since we’re on shore leave, so I’ll also offer to give you a tour of the ship if you’d like. Did you pick a specialty before graduation?

Doucet: Oh, excellent. Out of curiosity, are you looking into doing some research while you’re in Starfleet then?
