Ensign Dasal - Tell me more, tell me more

Korin gave off a goofy, embarrassed face as they showed the signage outside. Well, it was even more of a reason to be embarrassed about getting lost. They leaned in the doorway, looking down at the smaller Lieutenant.
Dasal: You also mentioned a Doctor Edrei. They the full time doc? I saw their name on my transfer stuff. What are they like? Do I need to be scared?
Doucet: We’re all full-time doctors here, remember? Doctor Leenaya Edrei is our chief medical officer. That does mean she’s the one in charge and is lucky enough to take care of pretty much all of the administrative overhead. She’s one of the kindest people I’ve met and a fantastic doctor. You have nothing to be scared of with her. We’ve worked together since we stole the ship out of the dockyard.
Dasal: I… ya I guess when I said “Full-time” I meant Chief boss person. Ha! Close enough right? Glad she’s a nice person, my teachers were kind of scary but I also drove them batty. ::he looked around but his attention then snapped back to her:: You Stole The Ship Out Of The Dockyard!?
Doucet: ::laughing:: Come in with me, grab a cup of coffee, and I can tell you the story.
He stared at her, dumbfounded, as he followed her into the observation lounge. He shuffled to slow his excitable steps as he took in the room around him. He needed to make a note of this place.

The observation lounge was pretty standard but still new to them. What stood out was the coffee bar. The smell was amazing, as everyone needed that nice caffeine to get through life. Doucet took him to the counter. The man tending the counter walked up as soon as he saw them, so Korin waved in a friendly manner at the new person.
Doucet: We’re one of the fortunate ships to have our very own Brew Continuum. They’re a franchise that specializes in coffees and tea, making them fresh from beans and leaves whenever possible. You can get just about anything you’d like here. Can I get a latte please?
He stares blanky for a few moments as they think about what they could want.
Dasal: Um-um… I um, wh- ah let’s just do a flat white? ::He gave a thumbs up as he decided:: Do they only have Earth drinks? That's so cool that we have this!
He nodded and walked away to prepare their drinks. He tapped at the bar as he waited happily for his drink, really excited to hear the story about stealing the ship. He pushed up his sleeves, leaned on the counter, and looked down at her as she spoke.
Doucet: So, what do you remember of last year’s Frontier Day?
Dasal: I kind of remember a lot about it, yet also very little. Everyone was talking about it but- also like everyone was vague and just scared. Like I knew about it-who wouldn’t but I got most of my information from other cadets. It sounded bad, a few in the class above me “graduated” early to get people out and helping.
The drinks came back, and Korin scooped up the tray to carry it for them. He then nodded for her to lead them to a place to sit and drink. Once they found a spot, he set it down and handed her the latte. He flopped into his seat, bumping his knees and making a face. He waved it off, giving another thumbs-up.
Dasal: So you stole the ship for that?
He kept his voice low, almost a stage whisper, as he treated the matter like something private that shouldn’t get out and about.
Doucet: Response
Dasal: So like what is the minimum number of people needed to fly a ship like this? That’s insane! Was it hard?
He was rattling off questions, completely absorbed in the story. This was amazing—almost like one of those Starfleet holonovels he used to play with during the academy, but this was real life.
Doucet: Response
Dasal: That’s wicked, I wish I could do something like that. I might not actually be brave enough though… if I’m honest.
