Focusing their mind on Solat’s presence, Aimot mentally reached out for the ones they had encountered. With their minds connected, Aimot allowed her energy to increase to match Solat’s. Only once their energies were in synch did they begin the process of pushing toward Solat, pulling the others with them. After several moments, the light faded and they consciously began to dial back their energy.

In a room, though smaller than the one they had just been in were Solat and those they presumed to be others of the group’s kind. They all looked so different and that alone had Aimot curious. They’d seen many things through their centuries of existence, but never such unified diversity.

Their gaze flickered to the ones called Kasil Kesex and Elizabeth Snow, noting how Kesex held Snow closely. They’d seen this before. A gesture of protectiveness and Kesex’s thoughts matched their supposition. Were the two bonded? Kesex’s thoughts and gestures seemed to say yes. Snow seemed uncertain but didn’t openly reject the gesture. Curious.

The change in Kesex’s expression as his gaze found the pointy-eared one’s suggested that he was recalling something. They hummed in relief. A clear sign that the process was working and hadn’t caused the damage they’d feared it would. His species was quite resilient.

Snow: Do you know who we are?

Kesex: ::looks at Toryn:: Lieutenant Commander Raga?

Raga: Correct. Do you remember me?

Kesex: ::pauses:: You’ll forgive me, I hope. It seems our memories were unintentionally removed. Though I recall your name, I don’t remember anything beyond that.

They allowed a trill of disappointment to escape. Well, it was called a process for a reason. It was best not to push before the mind was ready. The Remembering had been risky enough.

Isa: So we have been informed. Welcome back. I am Commander Jaelyne Isa, First Officer. This is, as he confirmed, Lieutenant Commander Raga. :: gesturing to Kiax :: and Chief Operations Officer Esa Kiax. And our guest is Solat, who is a guardian of the people below. You are, in turn, Lieutenant Commander Kasil Kesex, Mission Specialist. Doctor Elizabeth Snow, Chief Medical Officer, and Lieutenant Amuro McKnight from Security.

Raga: ::He nodded when he was introduced:: It’s good to have you all back in more or less one piece.

Kiax: It was definitely a challenge, but we weren't going to leave without you.

After a momentary exchange with the others, Aimot spoke.

Aimot: ~ We must apologize, Lieutenant Commander Raga. Our guards were overzealous and caused harm. That was never our intent. I have successfully stimulated Kasil Kesex’s memory center and they will likely return almost completely. ~

Solat: ~ The others can be treated the same way, though it is quite risky. Their memories should recover naturally in time. That being said, if we assist it may spark their memories to return faster. ~

Isa: We would very much appreciate that, Solat. If they could get their memories back with your aid, it would save a lot of re-education on our parts.

Raga: Indeed. I can also imagine it would be preferable to remember sooner than later.

Snow: That would be great.

McKnight: And would save some misunderstandings. Are you ok, sir?

The comment from the one named McKnight caused Aimot to turn toward Kesex. They felt most aggrieved at the pain the Remembering had brought. Unfortunately, it was part of the process. They’d been thankful that Kesex’s mind hadn’t been as difficult to navigate as they’d feared. On top of which Kesex had been exceedingly cooperative given the circumstances. He hadn’t seemed to share McKnight’s sentiments toward them. In fact, he was surprisingly diplomatic for a man of his background.

Kesex: I’m fine. A bit of a headache, but otherwise…

Raga: I understand how you feel. ::He chuckled and rubbed at his temple::

Kiax: How about you, Doc? Any ill effects?

Snow: Just a sprained wrist, but nothing other than that.

Isa: Technically, this should be your job, but under the circumstances I hope you can understand.

The other spotted being was also a healer? Curious. Were all spotted beings so gifted? Was Kesex? His memories had suggested him to be a warrior and an information-gatherer. They reached out to the others of their kind to share this new information, hoping for their thoughts on this development. These beings were one of the more interesting groups they had encountered.

Snow: By all means. You’re in better shape than I am at the moment.

Solat: ~ When you are ready we can begin to recover your memories. Coordinating, Aimot and I can more precisely recover them than either one could alone. ~

Aimot: ::trills:: ~ Yes, we would be most pleased to assist. As recompense for the error of our corporeal ones. ~

McKnight: Alright. Do me next. I'd rather not remain in this state of mind for the rest of my life.

Raga: Understandable, Lieutenant. Have a seat then.

Aimot was slightly hesitant given the glimpses they’d gotten of McKnight’s thoughts earlier. Of them and Solat, they were more sensitive to thoughts of violence. They were young enough that they hadn’t yet been educated on the wars their people had endured in their corporeal forms. As an elder, Solat had taken a vow to protect the youngers in their charge from such thoughts.

Isa: Thank you, Solat and Aimot. We do appreciate your assistance. Aimot, Solat has been invited by our Captain to visit the ship. Do you wish to come along? I am sure he would be glad to receive you as well.

Aimot: ~ It is our honor, Commander Jaelyne Isa. ~

Solat: ::They briefly looked to Aimot:: ~ After the misunderstanding we’ve had, it would perhaps be best if we visit your ship and attempt to mend first impressions. ~

Raga: Perhaps we should wait to return until their memories are restored? We can pilot the shuttle back to the Kraken and one of us ::He gestured to Kiax, Isa and himself:: can pilot the other shuttle back home.

Kiax: As the two of us that haven't experienced a mental trauma in the last twenty-four hours, I suggest the piloting of the shuttles falls to myself and Commander Isa - as much as I want to experience the Raga Manoeuvre again, it's probably not the best idea.

Isa: Response

Snow: Of course. ::reaching into the medkit and pulling out the dermal regenerator:: I believe this will do it. No?

Isa: Response

Solat: ~ Just relax Lieutenant. This will take a few moments for us to stimulate the memory centers of your brain. ~

They followed Solat’s lead, allowing their mind to relax, but anchoring to Solat’s mind. It was like a soothing balm in a mental sea of emotion. Their own emotions were nearly lost to the maelstrom, but then they recalled the techniques they had been taught for separating from the subject’s mind just enough to distinguish themselves. An inexperienced younger without proper training could easily lose their essence when performing the Remembering. They were pleased that Solat had taught them well.

McKnight: Go ahead.

Solat: ~ Focus on this memory. Starfleet Academy. This place and the training. Starfleet Marine Corps. This has meaning to you. Focus on that. ~

Aimot hummed in agreement, serving as a source of calm to keep McKnight safe while Solat searched and stimulated his memories. Suddenly, they could sense their subject’s distress and they released a distressed screech of their own and began quivering at the powerful emotions they were unaccustomed to feeling. Still, they stayed the course, determined to help recover the memories. When at last the Remembering had concluded and Solat had broken the connection, Aimot trilled shakily in relief. They felt the presence of the others soothing them and hummed in gratitude.

McKnight: Where? What?

Raga: =/\= Shuttle Kraken to Chin’toka. Solat and Aimot are attempting to restore the memories of the other away team. We’re returning to pick up the Banshee and then bring out guests aboard. =/\=

Mei’konda: =/\= response =/\=

Kiax: =/\= ETA back to you is probably about twenty minutes, have the shuttle crews standing by to receive us. =/\=

Isa: Response

Snow: None. ::smiles:: Thanks.

Solat: ~ That should suffice. Your memories should recover in a matter of hours. ~ ::They looked at Snow next:: ~ Are you ready? ~

Snow: Yes.

For a few moments, Aimot was distracted by the direction of McKnight’s thoughts and began quivering again. Such a violent being. How was he connected to these others? None of them expressed such violent thoughts, not even Kesex, despite all that he had endured. If he and Snow were indeed bonded, she was quite fortunate.

Isa: Response

Raga: We’re here. I’ll beam over to the Banshee and pilot her home.

Kiax: Not by yourself, you're not. I may be a cripple, but at least I stand more of a chance of thinking clearly. I'll be your co-pilot. ::To Jaelyne, with a nod.:: See you back at the ranch, Commander.

A cripple? What an interesting word. They had not heard it in their years. Perhaps the beings would agree to cultural exchanges and she could learn the meaning of it.

Isa: Response

Solat: ~ Calm your mind and focus on the real memories. There is a woman. Someone loved by you deeply. Something called, fiance. Focus on her image. ~

A fiance? Aimot trilled softly. Another word that invoked her curiosity. Perhaps these beings mated in triads? They forced themselves to focus on providing the same calming presence as they had for McKnight. Soon, the process had finished and they were once again freed from the subject’s mind. The thoughts had been a contrast to those of McKnight and Snow seemed to associate pleasant, happy feelings with the other woman’s face.

Isa: Response

As the beings piloted their craft, Aimot communed with the others, exchanging what they had learned for the betterment of the youngers that would come after them. Their gaze fell on Kesex and even without prying, they could sense deep concern and distress in him. It was likely a result of the Remembering and they only hoped the distress would fade as he sorted through the memories.
