Seleya: How much of these measures that you're involved in are reactive or proactive?

Seleya could not imagine it was possible to prepare for every scenario, but she was curious if T’Ama could go into the measures that could cover the most ground.

T’Ama: As with all things, it’s a balance. It’s not always good to be as proactive as possible. Like with the fleet formation update.

Seleya: Said decision did not seem completely thought out.

T’Ama: Ships that hadn’t been in for upgrades in awhile weren’t affected on Frontier Day because they hadn’t had the latest, greatest malware installed.

Seleya: Hence quick action to undo those ‘upgrades’ shortly after.

T’Ama: It’s important to remember that not every update is necessarily good. Unintentional bugs can be introduced of course, but I’ve also seen plenty of changes that are of questionable intent.

Seleya paused as she took a few more notes then looked over at T’Ama drinking her next margarita. While this was an interesting conversation, she was probably bothering the commander on her shore leave with work stuff.

Seleya: That makes sense. I would be curious to hear if you have ever stopped an update. But perhaps it would be best for another time.

Seleya had more than enough to study in her own time and she stood up.

T’Ama: Response

Seleya: I have taken up more than enough of your time, Commander. Thank you for the information and enjoy the rest of your shore leave. Hopefully we can speak more of this at a better time.

T’Ama: Response

Seleya dipped her head and then called for the Chin’toka to beam her up to the ship again.
