(( Main Operations Center, Deck 11, USS Chin’toka ))

Byron tried to keep up with the woman as they went back to Operations to find this "Drummer," which was apparently not difficult.

T’Ama: Drummer.

Drummer: Eek! I mean, good morning! Ma’am!

The crewman jumped at T'Ama's approach. Byron noted that--don't cross T'Ama.

Trench: Crewman.

T’Ama: We found a large discrepancy in the numbers of ODN relays and isolinear interfaces we actually have versus what the inventory says we should have. I need you to do a full inventory of everything immediately to find any more.

Drummer’s eyes went wide.

Drummer: Right away, ma’am. Uhh… ::looking around quickly:: Just one thing.. ::whispering:: Can we talk in your office?

T’Ama glanced at Trench, and Byron raised an eyebrow inquisitively in response.

She turned and led them both back to her office wordlessly.

(( Chief of Operations’ Office, Main Operations, Deck 11 USS Chin’toka ))

T’Ama went around her desk to sit at it while the other two came in and the door closed.

T’Ama: What is it, crewman?

Byron sat wordlessly at the desk, studying the crewman.

Drummer: Ah, well… I know there’s a discrepancy…

Trench: And you didn't report it?

There was a tinge of accusation in his voice.

Drummer: Some of the crew on delta shift have a secret poker game with some people from Engineering and they always want to wager parts and Evan - Ensign Marlow - keeps doing that. And losing! I told him to stop!

Byron scoffed and shook his head.

Trench: Puerile. Childish. Those are vital components, not something to be gambled away!

Drummer shrank away from Byron slightly. He understood there needed to be a wager and without currency to worry themselves over, they had to something with stakes. But it was no excuse to take vital ship components!

T'Ama: ?

Trench: Of course, ma'am. My apologies.

Drummer: Please don't tell him I told you! I--

T'Ama: ?

Trench: Any retribution from Marlow would cause further disciplinary action towards him. ::Then something clicked in his mind.:: Drummer, do you have a sibling on the Constitution?

Drummer: ::she sighed:: Yes, my brother Jazz. It's why I go by "M."

T'Ama: ?

Drummer: The "M" is short for Metal.

T'Ama: ?
