((Interior, The Veytan Shell, Risa))
Nyssa: That's 'The Rory'. ::wink!::
The Risan bartender winked at S'Rorr, then moved on to the next customer, performing more dazzling displays of dexterity with liquor bottles, flames, and glasses with a variety of shapes and sizes.
The Caitian looked over to Karen Fodder and recognized her from.. somewhere. She was with the Chin'toka group and so he assumed she was one of his crewmates, but which department? He couldn't be sure. She seemed to be in a good mood, though!
At his other side, Kim Stapledon. He'd spent an evening hanging out with her drinking on the beach. If she shared his second favorite hobbies of drinking and reading books, he thought they'd get along famously. He wondered if she brought her pet cats to the
bar. Is that a thing humans do? They walk their pets, he knew, on leashes around cities, but so much of human behavior was still sort've.. fuzzily mysterious to him. He didn't see any cats, though. Perhaps they don't like alcohol.
Fodder: Hello there.
S'Rorr: Hi! I've seen you around before.. What was the department?
Fodder: I’m Karen Fodder. I’m one of the transporter technicians on the Chin’toka.
S’Rorr: ::in realization:: That's right! Of course. Well, it's nice to formally meet you, Karen Fodder. I'm S'Rorr.
Fodder: Pleased to meet you, S’Rorr. Are you with friends?
S'Rorr: I'm off duty, just call me Rory. Yes, have you met Kim Stapledon?
S'Rorr sat up to let Fodder better spot Stapledon on his other side, across the curved bar. Nyssa brought out a Risian Starshine and placed it before Kim. Once again, as she placed the drink, a light appeared on the bar beneath it to shine up through the liquid,
making it sparkle and glow with all of the colors of a Risan sunset.
Stapledon: Hi.
S'Rorr: What are you having, Karen? May I call you Karen?
Fodder: Response
A human man with long hair, sun-bleached and tanned skin leaned over the bar to address the three of them, a big goofy grin on his drunken, reddish face.
Man: Hey! You got any pot?
Stapledon: No, sorry.
Fodder: Response
S'Rorr laughed a little and shook his head.
The man seemed to get the message and wandered off in some other direction to bother some other patron until he he would be directed to a replicator.
About 90 degrees down the circular bar, a group of Nausicaans approached a group of Klingons. Aside from being the start of a series of unfunny jokes, that sort of situation is the kind that Bartenders watch for and Nyssa was watching carefully. One of them
yelled some sort of insult and another fired right back.
S'Rorr peered over while he sipped at his drink and wondered if they were friends or enemies. It could be so hard to tell with some cultures.
S'Rorr: What do you think they're fighting about?
Fodder / Stapledon: Responses
Rory downed the last of his drink with a susurrus 'aaah' and set his glass down, sliding it forward.
S'Rorr: Could I have another one? Actually, can I have a Cari'Ol Blood? Kim, Karen, you've got to try this one.
He had to keep his voice raised over the sound of the music and the yelling from the raucous group of tough guys. He was soon rewarded with a fresh drink just as delicious as the first one. At least, to S'Rorr. It was red, viscous, smelled of mint and iron,
and she garnished it with a crispy strip of something that looked like bacon, plonked right into the drink.
Rory delicately retrieved three metal straws and smiled as he tried to get someone to try his Caitian whatever-it-was.
S'Rorr: Come oooon, it's good!
Fodder / Stapledon: Responses
The Nausicaans and the Klingons, over the span of twenty minutes, seemed to have gone from calling insults at each other with hands on where they would have had their weapons, if they weren't on Risa, to fast friends slapping one another on the back and calling
for absolutely copious amounts of booze. Literally.
Klingon Woman: I will have COPIOUS amounts of Blood Wine! ::To cheers of agreement::
S'Rorr: Seee? Blood drinks aren't THAT bad. They like 'em.
Fodder / Stapledon: Responses
