Shivara followed V’Nille out of the terminal, S’Rorr next to her. Compare to the nice clothes the both of them were wearing, she was feeling woefully underdressed. She was wearing a royal blue dress, but it was rather plain and resembled her uniform in a lot of ways. But it was all she could manage at the moment.
New Orleans was bustling and the scents and sounds were threatening to overwhelm her senses, so she stuck close to S’Rorr out of some innate need for protection. The neon lights weren’t helping either. She thought she was the worst person in the galaxy for not being able to enjoy such a hotspot. But she wanted to spend time with S’Rorr and V’Nille was a friend. So, since this was important to her, Shivara wanted to be there to support her.
oO Besides, you know you love meeting new Caitians. Guess there’s more of us out here than I realized. Oo
The sweet smell of seafood, though, was a pleasant counterbalance to the light and sounds. And the spices were only making the food more mouthwatering.
V’Nille turned to them excitedly.
V’Nille: I smell her. She’s got to be close. Come on, you two.
S’Rorr: Aye, commander!
Shivara: Are you sure, V’Nille? How are we going to recognize her in this crowd?
V’Nille: Don’t worry too much. She’s the tallest one of the bunch of us and, true enough to the name of the food that inspired her, C’Reem has white fur. Well, mostly white. I’m excited for you to meet her!
Shivara: I am excited too.
S’Rorr: I can't wait to eat. Speaking of food, though, were you all named after Human food? I always thought V'Nille sounded unique for a Caitian name, but I just assumed it was just more common in the colonies. Your sister's named after food, too? What's she like?
V’Nille: All of our names are inspired by human food flavors, yes. Well, she’s the adventurous sort. I’m told she can be intense for people that aren’t used to her like I am. She was supposed to join the same company as my parents to learn the ropes but she visited Earth at one point and just kind of fell in love with the place, I guess. She’s settling in here. I told you she’s opening a restaurant that’s supposed to be a fusion of Caitian and, uh… Cajun cuisine, right? Opening night is tomorrow. That’s why I brought you two along. We’re going to taste test her creations! She has a human chef helping her, I think.
S’Rorr: ::clapping his hands together:: YES! That's what I'm excited about. The Caitian-Cajun, C'Reem! I can't wait. What do you think, Shivara? You hungry?
She felt S’Rorr’s hand on her back and smiled shyly as she nodded.
Shivara: Starving. And the fish smells delish. The fusion sounds like a great idea and I would love to try it.
S'Rorr: I hope we won't be too early if we go right away.
V'Nille: Response
S’Rorr tapped his suitcase and it began to hover with a blue glow, staying close as he moved.
S'Rorr: In hindsight, I think I should have brought a jacket. It's colder than I thought it would be.. I smell a sea breeze, but my whiskers are telling me the cold air is coming down from the other direction.
Shivara: I agree. And all I wore was this short dress. You would think our fur would be enough, but I’m getting a chill.
V'Nille: Response
S'Rorr: Do you think she'll serve cocktails? I've always wanted to try a sazerac. It sounds like such a dirty word in my native.
Cocktails sounded wonderful, especially with S’Rorr and V’Nille along.
Shivara: I could go for a cocktail. Or a mocktail since I’m a bit of a lightweight when it comes to drinking.
V'Nille: Response
S’Rorr: Response
They walked a bit further, Shivara tucking her hands under her arms to try and keep warm.
Shivara: So, do either of you have big plans for shore leave? Aside from this, I mean?
V’Nille / S’Rorr: Response
Shivara: I don’t really have any. I am just playing this one day at a time. Honestly, I spent all my time at Starfleet Medical Academy and never really got out. I don’t know much about Earth and what there is to do here.
