Is’Kah arrived at the holodeck just as the doors were closing, catching a glimpse of yellow hair. After opening the door, zha entered, taking in the setting. The cloud cover was a nice touch, adding ambiance to the scene. It reminded the petite hybrid of an autumn day in San Francisco. Approaching the court, zha heard Ada talking

Ada: Great program, Rory.

She set her bag down and started stretching.

Is'Kah: Indeed.

Wright: Response

S'Rorr: Hello hello! Thanks for coming, I ::distracted by Ada:: .. think.. that's a very unique and interesting outfit. Striking.

Ada: Hm?

Azura stood upright from her toe-touch to look down at her fit: asymmetrical cropped form-fitting top in bright pink with a white collar, tennis skirt in an equally bright teal, and white court shoes. For fun, she had temporarily dyed her hair tennis-ball yellow. It was anything but reserved. She looked at Rory, and saw a much more casual P.E. outfit. Maybe Rory expected something more like that, or a grey, metallic bodysuit that more serious players would sometimes wear.

Ada: Oh! ::She laughed:: Thank you. I like to have fun with it. Besides it's a psychological game, after all.

Azura went back to stretching.

Is'Kah: If I had known we were going for a 2280s look, I would have done my hair in hot pink and ordered something made from recliner fabric. I trust you’ve been well, Rory.

Wright: Response

The Caitian rested his racket over his shoulder.

S'Rorr: I've been okay. Drowning in work, you know, aren't we all?

Is'Kah: Quite true. Shore leave is more active for my department due to all the shore patrol duties.

Wright: Response

Ada: There's always work to go around. I'm bummed that Kim left, I was looking forward to working under her. Also I'm bummed because as the most senior officer in the department, I have to pick up her work until Serala names a new Chief.

Internally, she sighed at the prospect of being named Chief. She knew it was likely, given her rank, and she'd take it... Can't a girl just be an officer sometimes, though?

Is'Kah: Alas, the needs of the fleet and all that. I would have preferred to give Kim a going-away party, but the transfer happened so quickly.

S'Rorr/Wright: Response

Ada: Do y'all play tennis regularly?

Is'Kah: I haven’t played since my first year in the Academy, where a pair of Vulcans proposed to wipe the court with me.

S'Rorr/Wright: Response

Ada:  I used to, but I'm out of practice! This'll be good exercise. I'm looking forward to a good sweat.

Is'Kah: That’s it. I’m on Azura’s team. Maybe this time, I’ll beat S’Rorr and Hana!

S'Rorr/Wright: Response

Is'Kah: Azura, do you want front or back?

Zha started walking to one side of the court, giving zhen racket a few test swings.

Ada: I'll take back.

She followes Is'Kah, on their way to their side of the court.

S'Rorr / Wright: Response

Glancing around, Is’Kah lowered zhen voice to a whisper.

Is'Kah: Let’s use my height to our advantage. I’ll deliberately miss the first couple of times while you return the ball, saving us. They will start targeting me, and that’s when I strike.

Azura nudged her with her elbow, grinning.

Ada: Devious. I like it.

S'Rorr / Wright: Response

Azura and Is'Kah formed up, and Azura kept herself moving, swaying gently, and on the balls of her feet, ready to spring into action.

Is'Kah: Ready.

Ada: Ready. Wait--who is serving first?

Is'Kah / S'Rorr / Wright: Response

Ada: Call it. Computer ::it chirped:: flip a coin.

A coin materialized, spinning as it arched first upwards before the physics of the program dictated it fall back to the ground.

Is'Kah / S'Rorr / Wright: Response

Ada: Oh, sorry. Well, not to worry, I don't have a killer serve or anything.

She didn't.

Is'Kah / S'Rorr / Wright: Response

Azura grasped the ball in her left hand and her racket in her right. She squared up towards the center of the court, tossed the ball up, and with a flick of her wrist, sent it comfortably over the net and in play. It wasn't a fast serve, but it was accurate, and it had a subtle spin to it, causing it to curve in the air, and bounce oddly.
