(( Flashback -- Day 5 of Shore Leave, Shuttle Yahtzee ))
Everyone who needed to be aboard the Chin’toka had disembarked the shuttle, except for him. The relief pilot knew that he couldn’t leave without checking the back, so as he made his way toward the crew area, he called out to its inhabitant.
Pilot: Professor?
Alentonis: Hm?
Pilot: We’ve arrived at the Chin’toka, sir. Your final destination?
Alentonis: Oh, right. Sorry, I got wrapped up in this research. I’ll get my stuff and let you go.
The absent-minded professor hastily grabbed his supplies and did a quick check of the cabin to make sure he didn’t leave anything behind. Once he had disembarked, the pilot and the Yahtzee secured the necessary clearances for departure.
As Tim stood alone in the shuttle bay, he glanced around the room and realized that he was alone, as all the others had made their way out by now.
(( Outside Cheif Engineering Office, Deck 14, USS Chin’toka ))
Tim was patiently waiting outside the door, and hadn’t exactly glanced at the manifest when he made his way into the room. He knew full well that Lael was here in engineering somewhere, so it was just a matter of finding her. Though he was reasonably certain this was the source of the notification, he had that proverbial burning sensation in the ears as his name was invoked. As the doors opened, he started to speak for the first time since the summons.
Alentonis: Pardon me, I’m looking for--
His voice trailed off abruptly as he caught sight of Lael, a surprised looking and goofy grin crossing his features. He feigned the shock in his voice as he spoke.
Alentonis: Why, commander Rosek, what a surprise! I didn’t know you’d be here.
Rosek / Lephi: Response
Alentonis: Commander Timothy Alentonis, at your service. I was summoned by the Reskari memo.
