// Captain’s Log: Stardate 240112.15

It is disheartening to see such an ancient artifact as Deep Space Twenty-Six shattered into such minute particles. The loss of the Chon technology will no doubt be a blow to the scientific community for years to come. Fortunately, the station had been occupied long enough that it was very likely that most information had already been gleaned from it that could be.

I am pleased that Lieutenant T’Ama was able to recover so much data before the station blew. I am not sure how the Caraadians handled data backup and storage, but the Starfleet data will no doubt have been transmitted to Shemsh Colony and likely on to Starfleet Command, so that should be easily recoverable. I am most interested in the data obtained during the attack. I intend to personally analyze it and send my own professional report back to Command based not only on my position as Captain, but as an experienced tactical officer and former Strategic Operations officer.

The biggest concern to me, however, is that we now have more concrete evidence of Romulan interference in the Valcarian Civil War. While it’s still inconclusive which side supports which faction, there can no longer be any doubt. Between the capture of the prisoner Sheri, to the presence of the outdated cloaking devices on the Valcarian ships, it’s pretty evident. That, on top of the Romulan presence detected during the Val Tesai incident of 2397, only strengthens my belief that the Romulans are trying to get their feet planted back in the Par’tha Expanse. Combine this with the information Fleet Admiral Wolf passed along to me following the death of Commander Thoran, and I can’t help but think there is a larger conspiracy at play than even I suspected. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

High Prefect Rolus and I had a productive meeting, if a bit confrontational. It appears her attitude toward us hasn’t softened much over the years, even with our presence for so long. That said, she was grudgingly grateful for our timely arrival and assistance and has indicated she’s willing to continue working with the Federation for the time being, especially in light of this new information regarding the Romulans.

Serala ended the recording, then signalled Lieutenant Neshala to open a channel to Fleet Captain Delano on the Astraeus. After she’d finished speaking with him, she stood and headed out to go visit her guests in the brig.

(( timeskip - Brig, Deck 11 ))

Serala entered the brig and gave a cursory look at her guests. In one room was Commander Brez’art and in the other was a woman who had blonde hair down to her shoulders and was wearing a Caraadian uniform. Her appearance did not seem to match that of a Romulan, which indicated cosmetic surgery to Serala. And given her father’s history, she was pretty sure that was extremely likely. But how they had been able to confirm she was Romulan was something she had yet to learn. However, the stain of dried green blood coming from the woman’s nose clearly indicated Vulcanoid heritage, which made Romulan even more likely.

Serala: Lieutenant McGillian. Where were you planning to begin?

She had no particular starting point in mind. Both prisoners need to be interrogated, but she’d leave the decision to her Acting Chief to make.

McGillian: Response

Serala nodded.

Serala: Excellent. I will let you take the lead. I just wanted to be present for this.

McGillian: Response

Serala watched as the young man began to prepare the first prisoner. She was going to be on hand in case anything came up that required an extra security person - after all, that was her specialty - but also because she wanted to hear this information first hand. She waited until he began and then watched with keen interest.

McGillian: Response

Brez’art or Sheri (your choice): Response
