(( Mountains, South of the wreckage, Ah’rak IV ))
Sylvie would have much rather stayed on the ship to help with the influx of crew that swarmed Sickbay in the wake of whatever the hell the Chin’toka just pulled off but orders came in for them to organize a medical team to assist the Captain’s undoubtedly valorous charge there. Most of the team were nurses or the like; the new Aenar was the only other fully credentialed doctor that beamed down. They were curious to see how the blind doctor would handle the scene that played out in front of them.
They weren’t disappointed. Dr. Sh’vhaatror (a name that Sylvie would need to practice a bit more to master to her liking) immediately started treating patients. Sylvie turned their attention to a different group than the Aenar focused on but they weren’t given a lot of time to get started before the Captain greeted them.
Serala: Doctors. Welcome. Sorry to do this to you, but we’re a go. Right now. And it sounds like some of them might be hurt, most especially Doctor Edrei. So the two of you are coming with. Grab some weapons and let’s get going.
Sylvie eyed the proffered weapon. A flash of memory from Frontier Day was all that was needed to prompt them to shake their head. They had killed once already, even if it wasn’t really them doing it but the Borg, and were not eager to risk harming anyone again. Stepping away from it reinforced their decision enough that they were able to focus on the nearest patient, who was one of those showing signs of internal bleeding to a degree that they just tagged him for immediate beam back to Sickbay.
Sh’vhaatror: Captain, I know things are urgent, but some of these officers have received some internal injuries. Can me and Dr. Doucet has a few quick moments to make sure no one collapses once their adrenaline wears off. A security officer that can’t stand is about as useful as a doctor without sight.
Doucet: I’d like five minutes to evaluate everyone properly, yes. We won’t be helping anyone very well if we just rush in there after that stunt Callahan pulled with the ship.
Brodie/Serala: Response
Sh’vhaatror: Security team should be fine, would you like one of us to examine you Doctor Brodie, or Captain? Or get a small dose of Bicaridine for any pain or soreness you all will be eventually feeling from your injuries.
On a hunch, Sylvie scanned the environment with her tricorder. They were relieved to see the results.
Doucet: Radiation levels here are a little higher than normal, looks like, but not to a degree that anyone needs to worry about exposure. Seems like half the crew on the ship needs treatment for that at the moment. Whatever burst must have been in the upper atmosphere.
The doctor approached Serala and scanned her and then Brodie with the tricorder. They had no intention of being deferential or all that accommodating until they verified the condition of the officers themself.
Brodie/Serala: Response
Sh’vhaatror: Well everyone should be fine for the moment. ::she turned to Doucet briefly to confirm:: Though I should insist once we are back on the ship to report to sickbay immediately, and avoid sharp movements to not reopen some of the wounds. I will try to stay out of the way.
Doucet: ::nodding:: For you two, I’m not seeing anything that needs immediate treatment. Although… Captain, considering Romulan hearing sensitivity, please do get a proper hearing test done after you get back to the ship.
Brodie/Serala: Response
Doucet: If you insist. We’ll keep an eye on everyone. What’s the path we’re taking?
Sylvie glanced down at the valley. They could swear there was something going on at the edges of their hearing. Was it coming from the ship buried underground or simply an aftereffect of what the crew just went through?
Brodie/Serala/Sh’vhaatror: Response
Doucet: I’ll let the other medics know to stay here with the rest of the Security officers until we secure the scene then.
