(( Chief Counselor’s Office, Deck 10, USS Chin’toka ))

Peters: I agree. I happened to have experience in a role he was looking to fill, the brass must’ve said “I know just the guy.” and filled out the transfer orders. Thus, here I am.

Azorius:  Well then, lucky us!

Peters: Heh. Yes. Dr. Skyfire tells me that someone in the higher ranks, he wasn’t specific who it was, has a sense of humor and that sometimes places and paths cross that you otherwise wouldn’t think to connect the two. I couldn’t tell if he meant that in a religious context or in terms of Starfleet’s higher-ranks.

Azorius: Yes, an interesting notion. He seems like an interesting fellow, this Skyfire. I have yet to meet the illustrious Doctor but he sounds intriguing.

Peters: You could say that. Met him through one of the alumni pen pal programs after his piece on stem cells and nanotech in spinal injury repair got published in 2394.

Azorius: Stem Cell research has always been something I’ve found fascinating, though my expertise is more on what happens in the brain, rather than the rest of the body. But I digress. Tell me then Commander, any family, close friends, loved ones on board?

Peters: No family, no loved ones. Friends, yes. Professor Alentonis, lieutenant Carter Greyson, Dr. Skyfire, and his dog, Devlin.

Azorius: Always good to have friends after all. Young man like you, needs that network and all that, right?

Peters: Yes, a nice group of friends they are too. Love is...a difficult subject for me. I never seem to get it right. Every date has been a disaster, so I may just give up. It’s hard.

Azorius: Quite true, love is a difficult notion but giving up is never the answer! Tell me, what do you do in your off duty time?

Peters: Study the arts of shotokan karate, and various cultural studies of cuisine from either other places on Earth or other species.

Azorius: Quite interesting, I personally love sampling cuisine from different species and cultures. I am still finding I don’t have the palette for gagh though…

Peters: Me either. Klingon cuisine has always been the hardest, though I will say this much: Dr. S makes one hell of a raktajino. You should try it when he gets the BC up and running.

Azorius: Sounds like someone had been reading my file.

He laughed.

Peters: Brew Continuum. It was a tradition started by then-ensign Geoff Teller aboard the Veritas, and it sort of evolved into a multi-ship franchise of coffee and tea. Skyfire, with his uncle’s coffee business on Earth and a prior BC franchise on the Astraeus, has obtained authorization from captain Delano to set up again here on the Chin’toka.

Azorius: I am known for my love of Raktajino! I will have to seek out Dr Skyfire soon and sample for myself.

Peters: I digress again, sorry. Any other questions you have for me, counselor?

Azorius: Never be afraid of talking about anything, even if it seems irrelevant. You speak well of this Dr Skyfire, he’s clearly an important friend. Tell me about your friendship?

Peters: Response

Azorius: Friendships like this are important. It’s nice to see.
