(( Brew Continuum, Port Observation Lounge, Deck 10, USS Chin’toka ))
Dasal: That’s wicked, I wish I could do something like that. I might not actually be brave enough though… if I’m honest.
Doucet: If you had asked me before, I would have said the same. It turns out that you’ll only know the answer to that once you’re in the moment. We had orders and Earth was in danger. I thought it was a risky move and honestly patently absurd at the time, but bringing the Chin’toka online and into that battle turned out to be the right move. I think Command realized they couldn’t just try us all for stealing the ship since we were key to saving the day and just ended up going along with it, leaving Captain Serala in command and everything.
Dasal: I guess the end result was good, so all was good.
Doucet: Mmhm! So what do you think of the coffee here?
He was just holding his coffee in his hands as she told the story, in awe that she had such a rambunctious tale to tell. When asked about the coffee, he gave a funny look and quickly took a drink. Ah—still hot! He made a face but gave a thumbs-up.
Dasal: H-ot… Ah um- ya it’s good! ::Cough:: whoo, smaller sips ya?
Taking a more controlled sip, he savored it more. Ah, there we are. His tongue might have needed a dermal regenerator.
Doucet: It’s good, right? I think we get spoiled by the sameness from the replicator and forget that sometimes making it from scratch is just what we need. Since Sickbay isn’t too far from here, a lot of the staff there come here on our breaks. It’s also pretty popular with the ship as a whole, so you’ll never really anticipate who you’ll run into here.
Dasal: I didn’t ever think of that. I guess you have a point. That hand made touch just gives it that extra umph of…well taste. I can see why everyone comes here!
Doucet: Yeah, even Captain Serala will wander in every so often and mingle with the rest of the crew.
Dasal: The Captain? Really!? Oh I’m not ready to make that much of a fool of myself in front of someone. I mean I just got on this ship. I hate to leave.
He gave her a playful wink as he warmed his hands on the mug and took another sip.
Doucet: Response
Dasal: I was just playing. Though many of my teachers would say I am a colorful personality! I like to wear it with a badge of pride!
Doucet: Response
Dasal: Honestly Doc, I’m glad to be here. For a while I didn’t think I would ever get on a ship, yet here I am! I wish I had a cool story to tell you back.
He played with his sleeves again as he looked out the observation windows. It was still such a different sight, just staring out from the ship. He smiled and took another big drink—yeah, that coffee was good. Then he looked back at her.
Dasal: Okay we got Sickbay, and coffee room. What else is a need to know for a baby officer? I was thinking of the torpedo bay… I’m kidding, I’m kidding, don’t give me that look.
He cackled at his own joke and gave a playful wink once again, as he finished his coffee.
Doucet: Response
Dasal: Sure, sounds great! ::He held out his hand, offering to take her coffee if she was finished:: So besides stealing ships, what made you want to doctor it up Doc?
Doucet: Response
