(( Banquet Hall, Malau Resort, Risa  ))

((I got really behind with responding to this.. All the award sims got buried and sorry if I missed your tag))

Seleya was wearing her usual yellow uniform, as she had for most of this shore leave, when she stepped into the banquet hall. Seeing the crew gathered, she wondered what everyone’s accolades would be, though she wished they had chosen an outdoor location. Once she found her table, she pulled out her card of Noptitriptan and took two tablets to prepare herself for the noise.

Sherlock: First, thank you all for being here tonight. ::beat:: I'm not great at speeches, so I'll keep it brief. This was a tough one. We had a lot stacked against us going in. But we did the best we could with what we had and I thank you all for your efforts. So, without further ado, let's get to it.

She appreciated the commander’s brevity, hopefully that would mean the ceremony would be short and she could leave the crowded room.

Sherlock: For completion of the mission without an outbreak of hostilities, the entire crew is awarded the Peacekeeper Service Ribbon. Additionally, we are all awarded the Romulan Campaign Medal as it is clear we were working against a Romulan operation. Congratulations.

Seleya joined in as everyone began to clap.

Sherlock: Lieutenant Neshala and Ensigns Seleya and Lyara, please come forward. ::long pause as she waited for the trio to come to the podium:: As some know, and for those who don't, the three of you participated in an undercover operation to find out the level of involvement of the Romulans. The information gained was invaluable to Starfleet and the Federation and has given us a better picture of their involvement in the region. For this, you are awarded the Intelligence Star. Congratulations, and good work.

Seleya joined the other two as they made their way to the podium, awaiting the commander to present their accolades. She was surprised they had received the Intelligence Star, given the disaster of the operation. At least from her point of view, it seemed Starfleet saw it differently. She expressed her gratitude alongside her two crewmates.

Seleya: Thank you, Commander.

Satisfied with their accolades, Seleya turned to follow Lyara and Neshala off the stage, but then.

Sherlock: Except you, Seleya.

Seleya stopped, and she became tense. She turned back to face the commander and she thought she saw a hint of enjoyment on the commander’s face. She wanted to glare at her, but kept her cool and maintained a straight face.

Sherlock: For your actions during the undercover operation in which you single handedly engaged with multiple combatants, successfully, you are hereby awarded the Starfleet Medal of Valor. Congratulations, Ensign.

Seleya was stunned to receive such a high honor. She turned back to the crowd, the medal felt a little undeserved as she wasn’t joined by her other two crewmates who she felt were equally as brave.

Seleya: Thank you, Commander.

Seleya took the ribbon and then got more nervous as she met the commander’s eyes. She got a feeling something bad was about to happen.

Sherlock: Just one more. ::beat:: For injuries sustained in the line of duty, ::she paused and took in a deep breath:: you are hereby awarded the Purple Heart.

Seleya's visibility frowned as she received the award. What she wanted was to refuse the ribbon, but she knew she could not.

Seleya: Thanks.

Seleya reluctantly took the ribbon and dipped her head before quickly turning to leave the stage. Once she returned to her seat, she pocketed the Purple Heart to keep it out of sight.

She looked back up at the stage as the others made their way forward, applauding their hard work. She knew that each mission had its challenges, yet they had all overcome them. Even the captain returned to present their first officer with her well-deserved award, though Seleya was still a little annoyed by the stunt Aine had pulled on stage earlier.

Seleya listened to the captain's speech, hoping everything proceeded according to the Captain’s own plans.

Serala: Ensigns Lyara Alroyo and Seleya of Khanda, front and center please.

Seleya let out a long breath. After the ribbons she wasn't ready to return to the stage, but she wasn’t going to refuse the Captain.

Serala: By the authority of Starfleet Command, Lyara Alroyo and Seleya of Khanda are promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, effective Stardate 240208.24. Congratulations, Lieutenants.

Seleya stood tall as she received her half pip, and then shook the Captain’s hand.

Serala: Well done, both of you.

Seleya: Thank you, Captain.

Seleya returned to her seat with her roommate, giving her a pat on the back as they settled in. She watched the promotion ceremony continue, clapping for both her chief and the medical chief as they received their promotions and became full heads of their departments. Then came the same for V’Nille, and finally for Commander Sherlock.

After the awards concluded, people began talking amongst themselves. Seleya started to look around for an exit, but before she could, she heard a voice behind her.

Is’Kah: Congratulations, Lieutenants. Well deserved.

Being familiar with her department chief, Seleya was used to staring down at the hybrid, giving her a brief smile. She tried to keep the mood light, even if her own mood was sour.

Seleya: Thank you, Lieutenant. Congratulations as well.

Is’Kah: Look down, Lieutenant.

Seleya looked over to her confused roommate who seemed not used to Is’Kah’s small size.

Xiron: ::Turning to the former Ensigns:: Congratulations. May I quote an old Andorian toast. Glory is the reward of Virtue.

Lyara: Well I can drink to that!

Seleya: Thank you, Lieutenant.

Seleya dipped her head gracefully. Keeping a neutral expression and standing at her usual parade rest as she listened to the conversation, glancing to the exit of the room.

Is’Kah: Response

Xieon: I am so sorry I missed the last mission while I was on temporary assignment. The crew really has disguised themselves.::gazing at her partner:: I am relieved that I made it back for this. The idea that I would miss my beloved’s moment is unsettling.

Lyara: You didn’t miss much honestly. At least, that’s what I have to say since it’s classified. ::She nudged Seleya:: Ain’t that right former roomie?

Seleya: You are correct, Leuitenant. ::Seleya nodded to Lyara then turned to Xiron:: It is understandable, Lieutenant Xiron, there is no way we could predict what would have happened.

Xiron: Classified? Starfleet is the worst at keeping secrets.

Something Starfleet needs to improve on, Seleya had thought.

Is’Kah: Response

Lyara: And congrats to you on your promotion Chief!

Xiron: Yes, Lieutenant Senior Grade looks good on you zh’yi.

Seleya: Indeed, well done Chief, and congratulations.

Is’Kah/Lyara: Response

Xiron::Turning back to the newly promoted officers:: So, when not engaged in classified missions, how are you finding life on Chin’toka? I hope Is’Kah has not been too much of a terror as security chief. She can be quite the task master when she has an assignment.

Seleya: Lieutenant Is’Kah is a suitable chief, and her efforts were deservedly rewarded by the Captain.

The response was delivered more professional and neutral than she meant, though her thoughts were more trying to think of a way to excuse herself.

Is’Kah/Lyara/Xiron: Response

As the conversation lulled Seleya gave another brief smile deciding to take her chance now.

Seleya: I do apologize, but the hall is getting a bit too loud. I will have to excuse myself. Well done and congratulations again.

Is’Kah/Lyara/Xiron: Response

Seleya dipped her head before turning and making her way through the crowd quickly to exit out of the banquet hall.
