((OOC: Assuming this happens after the FO change IC and en route to Earth.))

((Sherlock's Quarters, USS Chin'toka))

Things were up and down for Aine. She was no longer the First Officer of the Chin'toka. Headquarters had decided for "the betterment of her career" to move her into Diplomacy. She hated it, it meant a desk job. As if being First Officer didn't take her away from the action enough, now she was basically being assigned to being a talker. The only advantage was that she would get to work with her partner more, when he worked now that he was a Reserve Officer. Word gets around quick on a ship and what was happening next she only assumed it was a sort of returning of the favor. Leenaya had sent her a message ((OOC: Yes, this was planned ahead of time.)) and invited her to have a session on the holodeck.

Martinson: So, what exactly is she wanting to do?

Sherlock: I don't know. But it didn't feel like a choice. She just said that we were doing this and sent me some ::beat:: costume choices.

She held up her PADD and turned it so Mel could see what she was talking about.

Martinson: That's ::beat:: interesting.

Sherlock: Yeah, it's like historical ::beat:: but not. Very ::beat:: exaggerated costumes?

Martinson: Well, maybe it'll be fun? Maybe you need a bit of a getaway?

Sherlock: I hate holodecks. Except...

Martinson: Except for training, I know.

She nodded. It was the truth. She never quite understood why people used them to have adventures when there were adventures to be had out in the wide galaxy. At least something about what "costume" examples Leenaya sent were interesting. Interesting in that it just didn't seem normal, so it at least piqued her interests.

Martinson: So you're going to do it?

Aine's face contorted. A look of semi-discomfort and semi-bewilderment.

Sherlock: Yeah.

((Holodeck, Deck 7, USS Chin'toka))

She felt ridiculous walking through the corridors, and past all the crewmembers, wearing...whatever it was she was wearing. It wasn't an uncommon thing and likely everyone who saw her didn't think a damn thing about it and assumed she was heading for the holodeck, but it was her own insecurities and prejudices about things like this that was really getting to her.

Edrei: response

Sherlock: Yup. I'm here.

Edrei: response

Sherlock: I don't want to wear the hat.

Edrei: response

Sherlock: ::frustratingly:: Fine. ::she abruptly put on the large hat of the costume:: I'll wear the damn hat.

Edrei: response

((OOC: Costume description coming soon.))
