(( Mountains, South of the wreckage, Ah’rak IV ))
((Seleya is being switched out for Ezalia, will make a note when the narrative switches to Ezalia's PoV))
Seleya: Sounds like we may not have time to negotiate. I am sorry doctor, but we need to extract our people.
Brodie: Agreed - hopefully it can remain on the table be we need to get them out of there. Based on what T’Ama told us we can’t have them recaptured.
Serala: We go in. Take them down with stun if they resist. We can talk to them once I know our people are secure. It’s the best I can do.
Just as Seleya was about to move out, she felt a deep thud reverberate through her Ny’krl, followed soon after by a low rumble. When she looked up at the sky, she saw what appeared to be an object hurtling toward the wreck, and right behind it, the Chin’toka entering the atmosphere. The ship caught the falling object with its tractor beam, pulling it safely out of the atmosphere once more.
Seleya would have been amazed to see the Chin’toka pull off such a maneuver in atmosphere, but the deafening roar as it broke the sound barrier directly overhead with the combination of the engine noise overwhelmed her. Pain shot through her head as the nerves in her Ny’krl that were overloaded by the noise. She was on the verge of blacking out when the shockwave hit. Caught off guard and off balance, Seleya screamed in pain, it felt as if someone had taken a sledgehammer to her skull. Her ears rang violently, and her Ny’krl pulsed with a relentless, pounding ache.
((Keeping Dialogue in, though Seleya can’t hear anything))
Brodie: Captain?!
Serala: :: shouting :: I CAN’T HEAR YOU! CHECK ON SELEYA!
Seleya tried to push herself up, unable to think through the overwhelming pain. Her hands trembled as she reached for her uniform jacket, ripping off the buttons without a care for formality. Desperation took over as she dug for her prescription of Noptitriptan. It was too late to prevent the migraine, her only hope was to dull the pain enough to think. She fumbled with the container, struggling to get it open, she then dumped whatever tablets she could into her hand. She wasn’t even counting before tossing them into her mouth. The container slipped from her grasp as she clutched her head again, the pain blinding and relentless as she waited for the medication to kick in.
Brodie: I’ll try and get to her! What the hell was that?!
Serala: WHAT? IS SHE OKAY? I NEED A MEDIC!
Brodie: Response
The meds did not stay down for even a few seconds before they came back up along with that familiar light purple liquid. Her head and ears were still ringing, she could tell someone was near her, but she couldn’t tell who, she was fighting desperately to even stay conscious.
Brodie: We need to get our people out of there…and we need to get back to the ship.
Serala: Agreed. And I need to have a conversation with whoever was responsible for that boneheaded maneuver.
Seleya was beginning to think something was more than wrong, her body was feeling like it was burning up on the inside. Her vision was growing more and more blurry as her vision tunneled, and then everything went black.
Brodie: Well, that will have almost certainly disorientated them as much as it has us…we might have an opportunity to tag our team and get out of here.
Serala: Agreed. We move now.
((All narrative is now Ezalia going forward))
Her professors had warned her that once she received her first assignment, some days would be dead quiet, while others would feel like the entire ship was on fire. Today was clearly one of the latter. After whatever crazy maneuver the ship had just pulled off, a flood of injured crew and those suffering from radiation sickness began pouring in. The wave of pain and despair was a strain on any telepathic doctor, but it was exactly the kind of scenario she had trained and braced herself for, so she could be here to help.
Her work had barely begun before she and Dr. Doucet were called to the surface to assist the rescue team, who had also sustained injuries. As soon as she beamed down, she got to work examining the security officers. Not that she doubted their first aid was competent, but she wanted a deeper scan to be sure.
Serala: Doctors. Welcome. Sorry to do this to you, but we’re a go. Right now. And it sounds like some of them might be hurt, most especially Doctor Edrei. So the two of you are coming with. Grab some weapons and let’s get going.
Ezalia politely declined a weapon and instead focused on the readings from her medical tricorder. Several of the officers showed signs of internal rupturing, adrenaline was likely the only thing keeping them on their feet rather than doubled over in pain. She would have preferred to do this work in sickbay with the aid of a biobed, but given the Captain’s urgency, she wouldn’t have that luxury. Adjusting her dermal regenerator to maximum, she began field-suturing the ruptures closed just enough to prevent further bleeding. It wouldn’t be perfect, the regenerator was meant for surface lacerations, but sadly biobeds were field equipment. Then, she administered a small dose of bicaridine to the security officer who accepted treatment, to relax their muscles and dull the pain they’d feel once the adrenaline wore off.
Sh’vhaatror: Captain, I know things are urgent, but some of these officers have received some internal injuries. Can me and Dr. Doucet has a few quick moments to make sure no one collapses once their adrenaline wears off. A security officer that can’t stand is about as useful as a doctor without sight.
Ezalia gave a small grin, and then realized this may not be the time for her usual humor, and people may not understand the joke. So she just turned back to do her best patching up the security team.
Doucet: Response
Brodie/Serala: Response
Sh’vhaatror: Security team should be fine, would you like one of us to examine you Doctor Brodie, or Captain? Or get a small dose of Bicaridine for any pain or soreness you all will be eventually feeling from your injuries.
Doucet/Brodie/Serala: Response
Sh’vhaatror: Well everyone should be fine for the moment. ::she turned to Doucet briefly to confirm:: Though I should insist once we are back on the ship to report to sickbay immediately, and avoid sharp movements to not reopen some of the wounds. I will try to stay out of the way.
Since she would not be participating in fighting she would just do her best to monitor the rescue team, and be ready for once they find the other team.
