Oddas: Galven, I need another option if our weapons aren't enough.

To say he was getting frustrated was an understatement. Wherever they went there was someone always in the way. And now these people were overstaying their welcome. He furrowed his brows and sighed, punching his fingers into the console. They literally had nothing on the ship. It was a flying empty sardine can. He finally found something and if it wasn’t the answer, then he just might as well give up.

Galven: You mean aside from the option of joining the Syndicate? I found something here. ::somewhat smirks:: What if we override the warp core since we’ve hardly tested it out, then as it’s just about to breach, eject it towards the Syndicate and just aim at with whatever torpedoes we have left. I mean if we can’t use the core, then no one can.

Raga: And if they aren't destroyed we'd be completely helpless.

Kiliak: ::aghast:: You're not serious.

Galven: ::laughs:: No, I’m not serious. From what I found near the warp core is an antimatter generator with injectors. I’m going to take a guess that there’s antimatter storage pods in there, correct?

Oddas: Several, at its heart it's still the standard design.

Kiliak: ::catching his meaning:: That's right. And the Utopia Planetia engineers built custom transporter signals into the Juneau's antimatter pods in case they needed to be suddenly expelled due to unforeseen circumstances during our experimentation. I'd say this qualifies.

At last. That was something German needed to hear. He wanted some good news and since there were several of them, if the first one didn’t do anything significant, then the possibility of throwing them all out towards the stubborn Syndicate would have to do. This was at that moment when German might be losing his mind.

Raga: Makeshift ordinance. Crude, but it'll work.

Galven: I’m betting we can release one or a couple pods and once it gets close enough to the ship, Commander Raga can fire a torpedo or two that'll hopefully severely damage them. That way we don’t have to fire everything we’ve got just in case there’s another damn surprise from whoever. I’m all ears if anyone else has any better ideas because that’s all I got.

Oddas::: nodding:: Beam out one pod, as close to the Unconquerable as you can.  Send a message to Fafnir and let them know what the plan is. All shields between us and the blast, or position a nice bit of asteroid chunk there if you can.

Kiliak: Our shields are at 15%. We're out of other options. Make it so, Mr. Galven.

German sent an emergency request to the section that were holding the antimatter pods. Luckily, the engineers nearest by the room were quick on their feet and had it in an open area in no time. Granted they didn’t need to do that and just leave it there, but the Denobulan wanted to make sure it was only one pod to be beamed out. He locked onto it with the transporter.

Galven: I’ve got it holding, sirs.

Raga: I'm diverting all available power to the forward shields. They're as strong as we can make them. ::He looked to Galven:: I'm linking the targeting array to the transporters, so they'll fire before the beam out and should detonate at the moment it materializes next to that ship. It shouldn't give them much time to react.

Oddas: Proceed when ready.

Kiliak: We're on our final approach.

Galven: As soon as I beam it out, I estimate about half a second for the photon torpedo to be launched for optimal results.

Raga: Photons locked and ready to fire. ::He announced while continuing to lay down fire from the phasers on the hostile::

As the Juneau swooped between the Vine and the Unconquerable, they banked past one phaser ray but the ship rattled with another hit, that all-too familiar shake when the shields were just not going to cut it anymore. The console chirped, the torpedo had a target lock. They were almost out of time. German transported the pod right at the coordinates he had figured up and within seconds it was next to the Unconquerable. He glanced up at at the Bajoran captain and inclined his head.

Oddas: Fire a torpedo when ready.

As the Captain spoke, they saw the Romulans suddenly decloak, come around the Vine, and let loose a volley of torpedos. They had still been following them, after all. The pod bloomed into a massive explosion, decimating the enemy vessel. It happened in such timing that it wasn't clear if the blow that landed on the anti-matter pod was one of the Juneau's or one of the Romulan's. German narrowed his eyes as the bright light illuminated the viewscreen, but didn’t look away from it. He wanted to make sure that the ship had actually exploded.

Raga: Direct hit. Reading massive damage to the Unconquerable

Oddas: Confirm that! I don't want any other surprises.

Kiliak: Uh. Sorry. I've got one.

German turned towards the first officer and noticed a dangerous domino effect as his station began to ring out with beeps and alarms. There seemed to be a chain reaction that were affecting the numerous asteroids. His brows now turned upward as he worried about the casualties he might’ve caused.

Kiliak: Bad news. Those torpedoes and the following explosion also set off a nearby asteroid. That one set off two others. It's a chain reaction. The entire field is starting to go.

Oddas: Response

The Denobulan was at a loss as to how to stop this from happening. All of it was going way too fast for him to do anything about it. His temper earlier had gotten the better of him as he now watched the asteroid system fall apart. He then realized that there were multiple civilians and the away team were in the middle of all the exploding space rock.

Kiliak: Full Impulse, aye-aye. Mr. Raga, energize transporters and get our people off that ship. Now!

Raga: Understood. Initiating transport.

Kiliak: ::hands springing, sliding and swiping all over the helm console, sweat dripping down her nose ridges:: Course is laid in. We're set to clear the edge of the field in 20 seconds. Warp drive is spooling up.

Oddas: Response

Raga: Wait...I'm locking onto the Vine's crew. I almost have them....No! I've lost the lock. Someone else just beamed them off the transport!

German swung his fingers over his console and locked onto the civilian lifesigns trying to get a latch ditch effort to hopefully grab them out of the other people’s transporter signal, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen with all the interferences. His readings were dissipating rapidly, but it seemed that they had been saved. By the wrong end of things.

Galven: ::clears his throat:: I was able to track the movement until the signal was lost.

As they cleared the last major asteroid on the edge of the field, Kiliak pressed a key to flip the viewscreen to display the ship's rear view. German knowingly caused a chain of events that more than likely should have never happened. Plus there were more than likely going to be future events of cataclysmic proportions that the asteroid belt had been probably allowing a planetoids atmosphere to remain breathable. He wanted to look away, but felt that action would be too cowardice of an act. Instead, he sent out a probe before they left the system in hopes of getting informational data about the damaged system.

Kiliak: Engaging. Maximum Warp.

Raga: The away team made it out okay, but I couldn't get the Vulcan crew.

Oddas: Response

Raga: Not for a lack of trying, sir. Someone else beamed them off. I picked up an energy signature nearby before the belt began to erupt. ::He glanced down at the readings and scowled:: I think it was another Orion vessel, but I can't be certain. There was too much interference.

Galven: It was. I was able to get a lock on the civilian lifesigns with Syndicate signatures before the signal was lost. For the time being, the other guys were lifesavers.

Oddas/Kiliak: response

Galven: I’m going to be recreating the scene again and see what can be done for similar instances in the future. I sent out a probe before we left to monitor the system just in case the destruction I creates a future chain of events to the planets closest to the belt.

Oddas/Kiliak: response

His expression remained neutral, but there was a slight frown as the somber events enveloped the Denobulan. Actually, he was a hybrid and the small amount of Human he had were causing his emotions to weigh himself down. With time running before his body went into a hallucinated state due to a quirk about Denobulan went under stress, he saved as much of the days events onto a seperate PADD.

Luckily as time went on as he continued to work tirelessly, he hadn’t suffered any fate he thought would happen. German soon went into autopilot completely forgetting that he had been stressed. However, remorse and regret came down harder on him as his memories of unable to save his sister started to merge into what happened the civilians they initially had tried saving.

There was probably someone’s sister that had been kidnapped by the Syndicate just like the way German’s sister was kidnapped by the Borg. He had a vision of probably someone else’s brother looking on in horror as he felt helpless to do anything. And probably malice and contempt watching the help that had arrived; leave in a hurry not even attempting to fix the obliteration that one callous and cold hearted Denobulan caused.
